Stop Everything That You Are Doing And Watch These SuperBowl Trailers Right Now ..!!

Siddharth Naidu

As because the Hollywood saves the best for SuperBowl, we bring to you all the TV Spots/Trailers/Teasers that were released yesterday, so that you don’t have to go scouting for them. Some serve as a furtherance to already released and appreciated trailers of highly anticipated movies, while some have arrived fresh into our excitement.

Jason Bourne
To those who remember the high octane chases, and those shaky camera works leading upto thrilling pulsating screen moments of the trilogy ( excepting of course the damp squib that Bourne Legacy ), this is candy land. Jason bourne is back ( neck chill !). And the best part is that he remembers everything. Can’t wait..!!!

Independence Day : Resurgence
Back in the 90’s, a trailer released showing a rather ominous looking spacecraft hovering over the White House. That in itself paved the way for huge box office numbers, and a cult fan following, begging to be seen by every Sci-Fi enthusiast. After almost 2 decades, we have the trailer for the sequel, Resurgence, and the situation looks pretty damn awesome. Oh yeah..Bring it on..!!

Kung Fu Panda 3
First it was Tai Laung. Next it was Shen. Now, we have no idea who got the cuddly Dragon Warrior frowning about. Whatever or whoever it is, We know that Dreamworks will leave no stone unturned to make it bigger, crazier, funnier and all the more exciting than the previous two. Oh! Did I mention, Po, is merchandising here..!!

The Jungle Book
The remake of an old time Kipling’s classic, The Jungle Book. With Iron Man director, Jon Favreu calling the shots, we’re definitely in for quite the visual experience as Mowgli departs on a journey of “self-discovery” and is guided out of the jungle by a hotheaded panther and a laid back bear. And what’s more the trailer introduces some new faces as well…

X-Men Apocalypse
The mutant comic book based thriller is about the new X-Men crew ( picking up right after the events of Days of the Future Past ) battling against a centuries old mutant, who “rises from hibernation” to destroy the city. (Now if that’s not a movie worth promoting during America’s biggest sporting event, then we don’t know what is.)

DeadPool
If there’s one superhero in town who’s here to save the day, it’s Deadpool. Played by Hollywood hunk Ryan Reynolds, the comic book hero managed to secure himself a spot on advertising’s biggest stage. The movie marks the first of Fox’s two ad spots and was created to give the movie that “last push” before it hits theaters just five days after the game..Check it out..!!

Captain America Civil War
And because no super event worth it’s salt can end without, Marvel dropping something for it’s craving fandom, here comes Super Bowl TV spot of the epic battle between the greatest Avengers of MCU. And of-course we see new moves, new fights, and hyper cool stunt work. Go ahead and see for yourselves !!

6 Amazing Facts About DeadPool You Never Ever Ever Heard!!

By Siddharth Naidu

Merc with a (motor) mouth is back for good, after that God awful (lip sewn) campaign in Wolverine : Origins. Thankfully, X-Men movies have skewed up their timeline post ‘Days Of Future Past’, which gives our unnatural superhero a fair deal of reimagining space. And Boy aren’t we glad for that. If the trailers are anything to go by, (And I’m talking about the Red Band Ones, not the baccha under thirteen Green band ones) DeadPool, cleverly releasing, on the Valentine’s Day, is gonna touch down some pretty aggressive numbers. And even if it doesn’t, we are betting our money on it, to eventually become a cult classic. Thereby we wanted to show off our DeadPool fact sheet with you guys, before you head to the movies and see him blow your minds

Studios be like “Let’s try it out…And then Kaboosh..!!”

gif 1A 3 minute test reel was shot in January 2012 in an attempt to convince the heads of the studio to move forward with the movie. On August 1st 2014, the footage was released to the public, and based on the overwhelmingly positive response from fans, the film finally began production. The footage was so popular part of it was recreated for the actual film. The film was shot in 48 days.

Chinese Be Like “ Dude, that’s hard shit….We ain’t rolling that..!!”

gif 2
China refused to grant a certificate so the film could be shown there. While China’s film import market is best known for supporting or blocking films based on how they present Chinese characters and stories (where applicable), that wasn’t a factor with “Deadpool”; China also often censors out extreme violence, profanity movies before release, and this film contains a large amount of all three. While the Chinese censors did consider such an edit here, they ultimately decided that the cuts needed to make “Deadpool” into a general audience picture would make it incomprehensible, and thus decided not to have the film in Chinese theaters at all.
You Must Be Wondering…Why The Red Suit…!!

gif 3

The Deadpool costume had a muscle layer underneath, that had to be removed because Ryan Reynolds was so muscular the costume was not only too tight for him but it made him look overlarge. The red suit isn’t just so the bad guys won’t see him bleed, but is actually inspired by the web-slinger himself, Spider-Man. In the trailer Wade Wilson requests, “Don’t make the super suit green- or animated!”. That was him taking a dig at his own potrayal of Green Lantern,2011.

It’s already so awesome…They so wanna touch it once more..!!

gif 4

Producers confirmed a potential sequel is in the works and it could serve as a crossover with Gambit and the X-Men. Considering the overall failure of Fantastic Four (2015), the sequel could likely replace the sequel-in-jeopardy of Fantastic Four. Director Tim Miller has already sketched out plans for the supposed sequels as well, with Ryan Reynolds returning to play the titular role.

The X-Men Connect And Crossover Routines..!

gif 5

Colossus, a character from the original X-Men film series, is set to have a role in this movie. This means the film may take place in modern day. This is the first film in the X-Men franchise to receive an R-rating. Marvel characters Cannonball and Garrison Kane were deleted from subsequent rewrites of the script, with the latter specifically being omitted due to budgetary concerns.

You never get old for this stuff….Never..!!

gif 6

Thanks to the experiments of the Weapon X program, Deadpool’s healing factor is so incredible that it has allowed him to survive otherwise-fatal injuries dozens of times. Deadpool has often sacrificed his body for others safety, sparing others the pain of certain death. Deadpool has been shown to survive some of the harshest, physically damaging events known, and yet he comes out alive. Among other things, Deadpool has survived a nuclear bomb, decapitation, and dismemberment. Even further, he himself donates his own organs on a regular basis because they grow back so quickly.

Brendon McCullum – A Journey Of The Cricketing RockStar..!!

0

Brendon McCullum

McCullum, the latest entrant into 200 sixes club,  now is New Zealand’s third-most capped ODI player after former captains – Daniel Vettori (295) and Stephen Fleming (280). The third ODI at Hamilton marks McCullum’s 260th and his final ODI since his debut against Australia in Sydney 14 years ago. That brings the curtains down to his limited-overs career with 6,083 ODI runs and 2,140 Twenty20 International (T20I) runs. While he has five tons  and 32 fifties in the ODIs to his name, he could manage only two hundreds ( still a record but a lowly figure to the class he commands) and 13 half-centuries in his T20I career.

Brendon McCullum

Let’s take a look at the prolific journey of the arguably the best improviser of the game, ever

  • McCullum’s career in representative cricket started December 1996 when he played for Otago under-17s. His debut was a game against the Northern Districts, where he bagged a pair.

Brendon McCullum

  • McCullum represented New Zealand at the ICC under-19 World Cup 2000 in Sri Lanka. In that tournament, he featured alongside his brother Nathan, Jamie How, James Franklin and Ian Butler, his future New Zealand teammates. McCullum holds the record for the most runs scored by a New Zealand batsman in an under-19 Test match. He scored 186 against South Africa under-19 at Lincoln in 2001.

Brendon McCullum

  • Playing for Kolkata Knight Riders, McCullum set the first match of Indian Premier League (IPL) on fire as he smashed unbeaten 158 runs – which is also the second-highest score in Twenty20 cricket across the world.

Brendon McCullum

  • On 21 September 2012 at the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 tournament in Sri Lanka, McCullum scored 123 runs against Bangladesh at Pallekele, setting a new record for the highest Twenty20 International innings, and becoming the first player to score two Twenty20 International centuries. This record was broken by Aaron Finch on the 29th of August against England, when he scored 156. However McCullum still remains, the only player to have scored two Twenty20 International centuries.

Brendon McCullum

  • Between 16 and 18 February 2014 at the Basin Reserve in Wellington, McCullum scored 302 runs in the third innings of the second test against India, becoming the first New Zealand batsman to score a triple-century. He shared a 352 run partnership with BJ Watling, then a record sixth wicket stand, rescuing New Zealand from a likely innings defeat. McCullum closed the innings at 680/8, both the highest ever innings by New Zealand, and the highest ever third innings in Test cricket history

Brendon McCullum 2014

  • On 13 December 2014, McCullum was named ‘New Zealander of the Year’ by the New Zealand Herald , beating out stiff competition from Lane Pilkington due to his continued co-operation with ICC over the match-fixing scandal which resulted in Chris Cairns being charged for lying to court, and also for changing the perception of the Black Caps as easy-beats.

Brendon McCullum 2014

  • On the first day of the Boxing Day Test at Hagley Oval, McCullum scored 195 in the first innings against Sri Lanka, which gave him 1000 test runs in a calendar year, becoming the first New Zealander to reach this milestone (1164 at the end of the match, with Kane Williamson at 929), and the fastest test century (in 74 balls), beating his own record against Pakistan in Sharjah. His 33 sixes in test cricket in a single calendar year is also a world record.

Brendon McCullum 2015

  • On 3 January 2015, McCullum returned to Basin Reserve, where he scored his triple century against India. While he got a 2-ball duck on a green pitch and three errors as a fielder, he was given a key to Wellington, a symbolic equivalent of “Honorary Citizen”, joining Wellington-born Sir Peter Jackson and Sir Richard Taylor for their works on Lord of The Rings as the third person to receive such a gift for last year’s heroics.

Brendon McCullum 2015

  • On 20 February 2015, in New Zealand’s 3rd Pool A match of the 2015 Cricket World Cup, McCullum scored 77 runs of 25 balls recording the fastest 50 in world cup history (51 runs off 18 balls), and the 4th fastest 50 in ODI history. He also delivered brutal innings against Australia, and South Africa in the semi-final as well. McCullum became the first New Zealand captain to lead his team to the World Cup finals, by putting the six semi-final losses in the past.

Brendon McCullum

  • On February 07, 2016,New Zealand claims the three-match ODI series 2-1 after beating Australia by 55 runs in Hamilton to give Brendon McCullum a fitting send-off from 50-over cricket.

Brendon McCullum

Here’s bidding adieu to one of the greatest cricketing legends of our times..Here’s the video which marks the last appearance of the black cap in ODIs..We are sad..!!

10 Year Old Chennai Student Wins Google National Coding Contest

0

By Lalith Vamsee

Shrikrishna Madhusudhanan, a class V student of Bala Vidya Mandir Global School, Perungudi, was recently declared winner of the Google India Code to Learn Contest 2016.

He designed a computer shooting game, ‘Shoot to Score’ using ‘Scratch’ platform. The Google India ‘Code to Learn’ contest launched by former President APJ Abdul Kalam has been organized since 2014 for students of classes 5-10, in which children across the country submit projects that can be anything from a software application for a social cause to a game or an educational tool.

Shrikrishna applied for the contest along with 900 other students from the city. After clearing various rounds, he had to compete with nine students from Bengaluru, Mysore and Mumbai for the finals in New Delhi.

“I learned Scratch software in my school robotics lab and this helped in creating basic blocks for the game. Later, with the help of my father (a business analyst) and teachers, I managed to develop codes, and design it on time,” said a cheerful Shrikrishna.

Shrikrishna’s quest for learning Robotics was heightened after the contest as he is creating a soccer game from a software called Scratch, which fetched him the award. Explaining the importance of the software, his Robotics teacher, P. Kalpana said that it has automatic commands, which makes its use interesting to students.

The game has multi-player options and has a command list upfront explaining the various key controls to the user. “Google selected the project for its unique, innovative design. He was keen on not compromising any of the aspects throughout the designing phase,” said Krishna’s mother, M.Shanthini.

Debjani Ghosh, the school principal, said, “The introduction of coding, and robotics as a part of the curriculum has enhanced the analytical and logical thinking of young students.” Krishna plans to pursue medicine and wants to focus his research on robotic arm surgeries.

Facebook Brings About Something You Never Knew You Wanted Till Now!!

0

By Siddharth Naidu

Facebook’s messaging app let’s you do more than just chat with your friends. You can trade GIFs, stickers, and photos. And create groups and forward texts. But most people don’t know about a new feature, a backdoor silent inclusion rather. That of a very playable (but pretty mundane looking) Chess Game!!

It is a little clunky, but hey you don’t need a third party application to run it. Infact, the pawns can be moved within the chat window itself. And we are telling you how to do that (and it’s totally command based, which , at some point of time, is sure to give you the whole matrix slurp)

To start the game, enter the command in your chat and press send :

@fbchess play

And to move your pieces, this is what you need to do:

The command starts the same as the previous, ergo, @fbchess and then if you have to move a pawn to, say e4, type in @fbchess Pe4 (or simply @fbchess e4, exclusively for pawn)

Now to move a different warrior on the board, you would need to go with these notions

K is for king, Q for queen, B for bishop, N for knight, R for rook and P is for pawn.

Now say, you want to move the rook to d3, you say @fbchess Rd3. And if you need help, the command is pretty straightforward, @fbchess help. And the rest I’m sure, you’ll figure out.

Sure, this isn’t the best-looking or most sophisticated method to keep yourself entertained or play chess, but it’ll work. Besides, just think how much fun it will be to send a series of Facebook stickers to your opponent as you yell “checkmate” into a computer screen. What a crazy time to be alive.

Make Life Easier With These Microwave – Mug – Recipes

0

Shout out to all those living in hostels, as paying guests or in an independent house, all by themselves, away from their families for the sake of studies or work. You humans are doing a good job on trying to be independent. Isn’t that the first step towards success? But, living alone has got its own disadvantages, specifically when it comes to food and eating, (aren’t we all tired of eating out every single day, for every meal?).

Now, food is something we tend to ignore by making excuses like, “oh, who has got time for that?” whereas in reality, we would do anything for a plate of good, home-cooked meal, while some of us hope there are recipes easy enough to be prepared in our hectic schedule. Well, here are a few recipes that would definitely help us keep up with our daily nutritional requirements, our food – fetish of the day and keep away the starvation. Besides, these recipes can be made in your mug, with the help of a microwave, all you have to do is set the time and carry on with your work right before you get a chance to defuse the bomb. ;)(Don’t we all enjoy stopping the microwave at 1 second?).

Proceed and read these mug meals that would change your life:

1) Mac & Cheese:

Mac & Cheese
Mac and Cheese

This is the ultimate comfort food for any teen or grownup. You don’t need to stress out about the recipe, you can now make it easily in your mug and here is how:

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup pasta
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (mozzarella works too)

Instructions

  • Combine the pasta and water in a large mug (probably your hot chocolate mug) and microwave for two minutes, then remove and stir. If you fear that the water may overflow, then just make this in a microwaveable bowl. Repeat this for minimum of two to four minutes, stirring every two minutes. The end result will be that the pasta has absorbed all the water and is completely cooked.
  • Take it out of the microwave and stir in the milk and cheese (and a pinch of salt and pepper, for taste). Microwave for another minute and a half, take it out, and stir the cheese thoroughly into the pasta.
  • Eat up!

2) Nutella Muffin:

Nutella Muffin
Nutella Muffin

Alright, I doubt there is anyone who does not like Nutella. This recipe is super easy and eliminates all the difficulties of baking in the oven. Besides, it is a solution to your midnight cravings, too! Just follow the recipe and impress yourself (and your friends):

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons self-rising flour
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons Nutella
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Whipped Cream Topping (just to make everything taste more heavenly)

Instructions

  • Combine all the ingredients in a large coffee mug (preferably, dry ingredients first, then wet). Whisk well with a fork or a knife until it’s all smooth.
  • Microwave for 1½ – 3 minutes.
  • Keep a check on it after every one minute interval (if it’s fluffy any not liquidy). To be sure that it’s fully cooked, take it out of the microwave and stick a skewer/toothpick through it. If it comes out clean, then it’s cooked, if it’s sticky, then microwave it for another 30 seconds.
  • Eat up!

3) Cookie in a cup? :

Cookie in a cup
Chocolate Chip Cookie

Who doesn’t desire eating those Subway cookies on a daily basis? Cookies bring out the inner monster in us. But, sometimes, (well, actually always), no one wants to do the hard work of baking and ruining their kitchen tables with cookie dough and would prefer the easy way out. Well, here’s your easy way out, which happens to be a lot cheaper than Subway!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 1 Tablespoon Granulated White Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon of Dark Brown Sugar
  • 3 Drops of Vanilla Extract
  • Small Pinch of Salt
  • 1 Egg Yolk
  • Slightly less than ¼ cup All Purpose Flour
  • 2 heaping tablespoons of Chocolate Chips

Instructions:

  • Melt your butter in the microwave. Butter should just be melted, not boiling.
  • Add sugars, vanilla and salt and stir.
  • Separate your egg and add only the yolk to your cup. Stir again.
  • Measure a little less than ¼ cup of all-purpose flour, then add it and stir… again.
  • Add the chocolate chips, and give a final stir.
  • Your mixture will now resemble the traditional cookie dough.
  • Microwave for 40-60 seconds.
  • Start checking at 40 seconds. (Usually takes about 50 seconds). Do not cook past one minute.
  • Just like a regular cookie, it will continue cooking as it cools. If the cookie is dry or cake like, try less time next time (but it’ll still taste yum).
  • Serve warm. (With whipped cream toppings and your choice of fruits?)

4) Lasagna

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon five-spice powder

Instructions

  • Place the rice into a large mug and cover with plastic wrap. Using a knife, poke one or two small holes through it. (This step is important!) Microwave the rice for a minute.
  • Mix in the vegetables (peas, red pepper, green onion, bean sprouts) in the same mug. You can add as many vegetables as you want, (make sure it all stays in the mug and doesn’t spill out). Cover the mug with the plastic wrap, and microwave for another minute.
  • Beat the egg and mix in the seasonings (soy sauce, olive oil, onion powder, and five-spice powder) in a bowl, then pour the egg mixture into the main mug and mix well.
  • Cover the mug with plastic wrap and microwave for 35 to 40 seconds. Take the mug out and stir. The egg should look fully cooked.
  • Enjoy!

What Is ZIKA Virus? Symptoms, Treatment and Everything You Need To Know About ZIKA Virus

0

By Vaidehi Rawool

With the ongoing scare of malaria and dengue and many other fast-spreading disease, our world today faces a potential threat to the health of its inhabitants.

The newest scare on the block is about this Zika virus which is considered to be spread by the bite of an infected Aedes Mosquito which acts as its vector. This same breed of mosquito is also known to spread dengue

Although symptoms of this disease are seemingly benign as the patient might have a mild fever, a body rash, body ache and so on which are very much alike to those of Dengue and Chikungunya.

This virus has started spreading rapidly through Latin American countries and a lot of people fear the spread of the same through the tourist who travel from country to country.

The most harrowing fact about this disease is the fact that it is somehow related to microcephaly, which is a birth disorder having fatal consequences and leading to deformities and development anomalies. In Latin America, the pregnant woman infected with this virus are facing severe problems, with babies being born with disproportionate heads.

In the light of these gruesome and potentially dangerous connections to this virus, the WHO has increasingly taken stringent measures for avoiding the same. Also the fact that this disease could come to India through the influx of travellers or the mosquito itself is seen as a possibility and necessary measures are being taken for the same. There aren’t any known vaccinations or cures of this disease as barely 20% of the affected people have shown symptoms.

Here is everything you need to know about this virus

Decoding Love : A Delighted Conversation To Install LOVE In Your Body System

0

By Hemanth Nukala

‘Oh My God, what I am going to read? Can Love be programmed into our body?’

Confused??
L-O-V-E ; a special word that is used to express the deepest feeling of our hearts. It is valued high anywhere in the world. According to mythologies, few say that God created us and decided our every moment and feelings in life. If you look from that technical perspective, God just programmed us with few feelings (which I am referring here as software) into our body (system) as like we programmed robots for our use.
Just putting this technical point of view in our life and how would it be if we had our body programmed, here I would like to take you through a conversation that possible could have happened.
Sounds weird?
Just assume if it happened that way and the conversation with a customer representative would go like..
Customer : Hello.. I want to install LOVE. How do I do that?
Customer Service Rep: Can you install LOVE?
Customer: I’m not very technical, but I think I am ready to install now. What do I do first

Customer Service Rep: The first step is to open your HEART. Have you located your HEART ma’am?

Customer: Yes I have, but there are several programs running right now.Is it okay to install while they are running?

Customer Service Rep: What programs are running ma’am?

Customer: Let me see….I have HURTEDPAST.EXE, LOWESTEEM.EXE, GRUDGE.EXE, and RESENTMENT.COM running right now.

Customer Service Rep: No problem. LOVE will automatically erase HURTEDPAST.EXE from your current operating system. It may remain in your permanent memory, but it will no longer disrupt other programs. LOVE will eventually overwrite LOWESTEEM.EXE with a module of its own called HIGHESTEEM.EXE. However, you have to completely turn off GRUDGE.EXE and RESENTMENT.COM. Those programs prevent LOVE from being properly installed. Can you turn those off ma’am?

Customer: I don’t know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?

Customer Service Rep: My pleasure. Go to your Start menu and invoke FORGIVENESS.EXE. Do this as many times as necessary until GRUDGE.EXE and RESENTMENT.COM have been completely erased.

Customer: Okay, I’m done. LOVE has started installing itself automatically. Is that normal?

Customer Service Rep: Yes it is! You should receive a message that says it will reinstall for the life of your HEART. Do you see that message?

Customer : Yes I do. Is it completely installed?

Customer Service Rep: Yes, but remember that you have only the base program. You need to begin connecting to other HEARTS in order to get the upgrades.

Customer: Oops…I have an error message already. What should I do?

Customer Service Rep: What does the message say?

Customer: It says “ERROR 412 – PROGRAM WILL NOT RUN ON INTERNAL COMPONENTS”. What does that mean?

Customer Service Rep: Don’t worry ma’am, that’s a common problem. It means that the LOVE program is set up to run on external HEARTS but has not yet been run on your HEART. It is one of those complicated programming things, but in non-technical terms it means you have to “LOVE” your own machine before It can “LOVE” others.

Customer: So what should I do?

Customer Service Rep: Can you find the directory called “SELF-ACCEPTANCE”?

Customer: Yes, I have it.

Customer Service Rep: Excellent! You are getting good at this.

Customer: Thank you!

Customer Service Rep: You’re welcome. Click on the following files and then copy them to the “MYHEART” directory: FORGIVESELF.DOC, SELFESTEEM.TXT, REALIZEWORTH.TXT, and GOODNESS.DOC. The system will overwrite any conflicting files and begin patching any faulty programming. Also, you need to delete SELFCRITIC.EXE from all directories, and then empty your recycle bin afterwards to make sure it is completely gone and never comes back.

Customer: Got it! Hey, my HEART is filling up with really neat files. SMILE.MPG is playing on my monitor right now and it shows that WARMTH.COM, PEACE.EXE, and CONTENTMENT.COM are copying themselves all over my HEART!

Customer Service Rep: Then LOVE is installed and running. You should be able to handle it from here. One more thing before I go…

Customer: Yes?

Customer Service Rep: LOVE is freeware. Be sure to give it and its various modules to everybody you meet. They will in turn share it with other people and they will return some really neat modules back to you.

Customer: I will. Thank you for your help.

Manoj Bajpai Stars In Possibly The Most Beautiful Short Film Of The Year – Taandav

0

If you’ve watched Gangs of Wasseypur, you’ll know what Manoj Bajpai is capable of, as an actor. Sadly, Bollywood hasn’t been able to give the man meaty enough roles.

While the trailer of his recent film Aligarh has won rave reviews, he has given us a rare little treat in the form of Taandav – a short film by Devashish Makhija.

Manoj Bajpai plays a constable in the Mumbai Police who is dealing with everyday problems. Till things reach a head in the form of the craziest climax you can imagine!

The short film also features an amazing background score by Nuclea. Watch the video below!

10 Best Movies Based On Real Life Incidents In Bollywood

0

By Shubham Kumar

Being a Bollywood movies buff, the first thing which strikes in mind is its fictionalizing of love, hardcore drama, unrealistic action, and majority of the films sketching a boundary of necessary happy ending. Inspite of all this, the movies are as delicious and pretty to watch. Thanks to its vivacity!

The most intriguing factor that diverges attention from the surrounding into the movie is when, the genre is such that the accomplished film-maker summarizes day-to-day life based phenomenas into a two hour script with such ease and perfection which leaves the mind of the viewers sophisticated after the lights are switched off after the commencement of the movie.

Nowadays, the Hindi Cinema has become quite inclined towards directing masterpieces based on true stories from the life of a distinguished personality to the dark tales of mastermind criminal, social outbursts of society to real incidents of counterfeiting and forging.

These films has proved to be a major out of league commercial success and a work of acclaim leaving both the producers and the viewers relished.

Microsoft Is Testing Underwater Data Centres In Deep Ocean

Microsoft swims to ocean’s depth to test underwater data centre as environmental friendly cloud computing alternative.

In an effort to reduce data centre energy consumption and heat emission, Microsoft revealed Project Natick, an enthralling research initiative that could bring cloud computing infrastructure closer to big cities near large bodies of water by putting data centres underwater.

Microsoft’s vision is to see self-contain data centres placed hundreds of feet below sea level removing the biggest cost of running these operations on land — air conditioning. Using the naturally cold environments of the ocean, Microsoft hopes to help continue to boost the adoption of cloud computing by businesses around the globe.

“Project Natick reflects Microsoft’s ongoing quest for cloud data centre solutions that offer rapid provisioning, lower costs, high responsiveness, and are more environmentally sustainable,” Microsoft explains on the website for the project.

“During our deployment of the Leona Philpot vessel, sea life in the local vicinity quickly adapted to the presence of the vessel,” Microsoft says on the Project Natick website.

Now Microsoft is looking to advance the research by building larger capsules. According to John Markoff of the New York Times, people working on the project have begun developing three times as large as the first.

The project itself is still in the research stages, but it could be a forward-looking solution to deal with the rising energy demands at data centres.

For those who are excited / interested about it, here is the video on that. Have a look!

You’ve seen the trailer. You’ve seen how high the stakes are. You’ve seen the teams pitted against each other. You’ve seen how friends become foes, and ideologies become morals to stand by. What you have to see who emerges victorious, and what defines the Infinity War.

We at Wirally, being the crazy fans of Marvel, bring to you some amazing facts about CA : Civil War (The Movie), to keep you busy till they fight it out in the movies come May…

CAptain America

Avengers Assemble..!!!

Captain America, Hawkeye, Falcon, Winter Soldier, Scarlett Witch, Ant-Man, Iron-Man, War Machine, Vision, Black Widow, Spider-Man and Black Panther are confirmed to appear. It is unknown if Hank Pym, Wasp, Daredevil, Red Skull, Hulk, and Red Hulk will, but Ruffalo was seen on the set of the film.

Black Panther ..Quite Literally….!!!

gif 2

Features the first live-action appearance of the Black Panther, played by Chadwick Boseman, who will later feature in his own solo movie in February 2018. Black Panther’s claws are made from vibranium, the same (fictional) material from which Captain America’s shield is made as revealed in Captain America: The First Avenger (2011). This makes sense as Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) revealed that vibranium was a metal only found in the Black Panther’s realm of Wakanda.

That’s How Big It Actually Is……!!

gif 3

The trailer broke the record previously held by Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens (2015) for the most views in 24 hours with 64 million views. In an interview, Daniel Brühl (CrossBones) said this movie’s budget was so huge that you could make 20 films from it. Spider-Man has more than just a cameo appearance he will be in 2 or 3 fight scenes and a scene talking to Iron Man and a scene talking to Captain America.

Spidey Spidey…Don’t Get Lost Boy…!!

gif 4

Spider-Man plays a big role in this movie, having to choose sides between Captain America and Iron Man. Since this is his first time in a MCU Film, it’s unclear if he will get a background story, especially due to the fact it’s a Captain America film and not a Spider-Man film. Tom Holland will be getting a stand alone movie and is going to continue appearing as the character in many MCU films, the next being Avengers: Infinity War – Part I (2018) 1 and Avengers: Infinity War – Part II (2019) (Not including the stand alone), and will also most likely join the Avengers.

Captain America Comes To An End….Almost…!!

gif 5

Captain America will not die in the film, as Chris Evans has two more films on his picture deal contract. After this, there are Avengers: Infinity War – Part I (2018) & Avengers: Infinity War – Part II (2019) left after them there is a possibility that Captain America will not die after all but will probably Retire at the end of Avengers: Infinity War Part, 2 and Bucky Barnes who is Captain America’s old friend and used to be Winter Soldier will be trained.

Revenge Drama To The Fore….!!!

gif 6

In this movie, Black Panther is going to hunt The Winter Soldier (Bucky Barnes) because he killed his dad, king T’Chaka, when he was part of HYDRA. In the “Civil War” comic, Baron Zemo was the one who outed Bucky Barnes as the Winter Soldier to the public. This will be where the conflict between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers kicks off, as the Winter Soldier is the one who assassinated Stark’s parents.

If Not Thor….Someone Like Him……!!!

gif 7

Ragnarok or Thor’s Clone was integral part of Civil War in Comics but will not be in movie. However Vision will be in movie, a similar concept who’s also a robot like Thor’s clone and is also worthy to wield Thor’s hammer.

Top 10 Moments From World T20 Championship

0

By Siddharth Naidu

Since its inaugural edition in 2007, T20 has given fans innumerable reasons to cheer about. Despite being said slam-bang version of the ‘Gentleman’s Game’, it has been much more than just the batsmen calling shots while others were reduced to mere spectators. While on some occasions, the proverbial David triumphed over Goliath, on others bowlers turned out to be the menacing trump cards. Even fielders showed their mettle with matches and titles being decided with a single brave attempt out in the field.

Overall, the World Twenty20 has changed the way cricket is played and enjoyed around the world. Here we take a look at the top 10 moments in its short but rich history. The World Twenty20, being not so far away, we thought of taking a trip down the memory lane. The list is not all inclusive but just some which have outrightly impressed us the most.

1. Sreesanth’s catch – India vs Pakistan, 2007 World Twenty20 final

Sreesanth Catch

Catches win matches, but sometime it can win one the World Title. Sreesanth’s catch of Misbah-ul-Haq in the inaugural 2007 World Twenty20 final was one such occasion. Chasing India’s 157/5, Pakistan needed 13 off the final over, bowled by rookie Joginder Sharma. The start was horrific as Sharma conceded a wide and a six that brought the winning equation to six off four balls. The task looked easy for Pakistan till Misbah tried to scoop Sharma over short fine leg, but then Sreesanth was alert enough to take perhaps the most important catch of his life. It also marked the start of Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s successful reign as India captain.

2. West Indies’ 2012 World Twenty20 Triumph

West Indies Win

For all those who deemed West Indies cricket to be dead already, this was a moment to stand up and take notice. After years of slumber, the cricketing giant that West Indies once was, roared up, courtesy the World Twenty20. Top teams like Sri Lanka (final), Australia (semifinal), New Zealand (Super Eight) and England (Super Eight) fell to Caribbean might. It was also West Indies’ first major title in eight years after the 2004 Champions Trophy. Marlon Samuels (230 runs), Chris Gayle (222) and Sunil Narine (nine wickets) were the top performers in this historic win.

3. Yuvraj Singh’s six sixes of Stuart Broad – India vs England, 2007 World Twenty20 (Group E)

yuvrajs 6 sixes

Yuvraj Singh has always been an impact player, with his uncanny ability to turn a match single handedly. The inaugural World Twenty20 got a proof of it in the 19th over of the Indian innings against England. A hapless Stuart Broad saw his six deliveries being smacked to sixes in the cow corner, square leg, extra cover, backward point, mid-wicket and mid-on regions, respectively. The onslaught helped Yuvraj score a 12-ball 50, the fastest Twenty20 fifty till date, equalled by Chris Gayle only recently. It was also only the fourth time that six sixes were hit in an over in senior cricket. India ended on 218/4 and won the match by 18 runs.

4. England winning 2010 World Twenty20

england win t20

England had never won a world title before the 2010 World Twenty20. For a country, that is considered the home of cricket, it was an ignominy that should have been erased long back. Nevertheless, as fate would have it, England faced arch-rivals Australia in the final. England kept a tight leash on Australia to restrict them to 147/6 in 20 overs. Then courtesy Craig Kieswetter’s 49-ball 63, England reached the target with three overs to spare. Fittingly for England skipper Paul Collingwood, the winning runs were hit by him. It was the start of a cricket revolution for England as they defeated Australia for the first Ashes win in Australia in 24 years. England then defeated India in a Test series at home to be crowned World No. 1 in Tests.

5. Brett Lee’s hat-trick – Australia vs Bangladesh, 2007 World Twenty20 (Group F)

brett lee hatrick

Brett Lee’s raw pace was a menacing factor for batsmen around the world. The Australian speedster put it to good use as he entered history books as the first player to take a hat-trick in World Twenty20. He scalped the wickets of Shakib Al-Hasan, Mashrafe Mortaza and Alok Kapali of successive deliveries. While Shakib edged to wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist, Mortaza was bowled by a yorker and Kapali was trapped in front of the wicket for a LBW. Australia won the match by nine wickets and Lee’s figures read three for 27 in four overs.

6. Zimbabwe’s win over Australia, 2007 World Twenty20 (Group B)

zimababwe win

It was a David vs Goliath battle, and much like the Biblical story, ‘David’ Zimbabwe triumphed over ‘Goliath’ Australia. It was only the second day of the inaugural World Twenty20, as the reigning ODI world champions Australia found them in an embarrassing situation. Elton Chigumbura and Gary Brent combined to restrict Australia to 138/9 in 20 overs. A 45-ball 60 from Brendan Taylor then ensured that Zimbabwe register one of their biggest wins ever by five wickets.

7. Brendon McCullum’s 123 – New Zealand vs Bangladesh, 2012 World Twenty20 (Group D)

mcullums hundred 123

Brendon McCullum’s panache to bully the bowlers with clean hits is a well-known fact. Bangladeshi bowlers bore the brunt of it in the 2012 edition as the New Zealand captain pulverised them with a 58-ball 123, which included 11 fours and seven sixes. He raced to the century-run mark in just 51 balls. This is till now the highest individual score in World Twenty20. Thanks to McCullum’s hard-hitting, New Zealand ended on 191/3 and won the match by 59 runs.

8. Sri Lanka’s 260 vs Kenya, 2007 World Twenty20 (Group C)

Srilanka 260

Twenty20 is a format where batsmen rule the roost. But what Sri Lanka achieved against Kenya in the inaugural World Twenty20 is a stuff of legends. Courtesy Sanath Jayasuriya’s 44-ball 88, Mahela Jayawardene’s 27-ball 65 and Jehan Mubarak’s 13-ball 46, Sri Lanka notched 260/6 – the highest innings total ever in Twenty20I. Their run-rate of 13 per over is also the highest ever. It did not stop there as Lankans dismissed Kenya for a mere 88, thus winning by a margin of 172 runs – the highest victory margin (runs) in Twenty20I ever.

9. Ajantha Mendis’ 6/8, Sri lanka vs Zimbabwe, 2012 World Twenty20

Ajantha Mendis 8 wkts

It was one of the few occasions when bowlers called the shots in World Twenty20. It was the first match of the World Twenty20 and hosts Sri Lanka gave Zimbabwe a daunting 183-run target. Mendis then wove a web of spin that had Zimbabwe on the mat. Out of his six victims, three – Hamilton Masakadza, Vusi Sibanda and Elton Chigumbura – were bowled. Following Mendis’ show, Sri Lanka clinched the match by 82 runs. His 6/8 is still the best bowling figures in a Twenty20I match.

10. Sri Lanka Packing Netherlands for 39, 2014 World Twenty20 (Group 1)

srilanks v netherlands

Fell Like a Pack of Cards – the idiom must have been invented to describe something like this match. The Netherlands were dismissed for mere 39 in 10.3 overs – the lowest ever score in Twenty20I. Four of their batsmen fell for zero while , Tom Cooper (16) was the only player to reach double figure mark. For Sri Lanka, Ajantha Mendis and Angelo Mathews picked three wickets each. Sri Lanka reached the target in just five overs, winning by nine wickets. This was also the lowest aggregate for a Twenty20I match – 79.

Priyanka Chopra as Presenter for 2016 Oscars Broadcast

0

While Sunny Leone is settling in India, Priyanka Chopra is shaking America now !!

Oscars 2016 Presenter List

Padma Sri Priyanka Chopra (PeeCee) is one of the thirteen presenters for 2016 Oscars. Its 28th of February, those few moments when she will be on the stage presenting an award at the Academy Awards.

And ofcourse she is excited about it..

This opportunity follows her recent spate of successes in both the Indian and international scene. She has given critically acclaimed performances in Hindi films such as Barfi!, KamineyMary Kom and most recently in Bajirao Mastani. She has won many awards including a National Award in 2008. Last week, the actress was chosen for India’s third highest civilian honour, the Padma Shri.

On the international scene, her cumulative achievements may not be huge but they have been enough to fetch her an opportunity to be on the biggest and most watched live show across the world.

For Chopra, this is the reward of five years hard work towards becoming an American pop icon.

She had crooned a few numbers for Indian films before Universal Music saw in her the potential of becoming an international pop music star from India and signed her up in 2011. Her first single, `In My City’, featured international singer will.i.am. was slammed by music critics in India. It had a big-ticket US release in 2012 in a TV spot for the NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football. It also won her the Best International Debut title at People’s Choice Awards India and three nominations at World Music Awards that year.

However, her two biggest international stints have been on the American screen. Last year, Chopra lent her voice to a character for the animation film Cars before bagging the lead role in the American tele-series, Quantico.

priyanka-peoplechoice

Chopra’s greatest strength is that she is a good performer. she doesn’t depend on selfies or cameos with Hollywood stars but goes for big assignments and appearances that she thinks will be noticed. At the same time, she hasn’t traded her career in India for a prospective one in the US. After Bajirao, she will now be seen in Prakash Jha’s Jai Gangajal which releases in March, playing a cop.

Apple is Getting iPhone 5se ready, Not 6c

0

By Hemanth Nukala

Who want’s to see the 4-inch iPhone make a return? Well, if the latest rumor making the rounds is true, Apple hopes that a lot of you do, because it may have one in the pipeline ready to land as early as March.

Over the past few months this rumor has been building up quite a head of steam, but the core of it has remained unchanged – basically, after giving the 4-inch iPhone the chop, Apple plans to reintroduce it again because there are some people who hate the jump to a 4.7-inch display.

All the rumors seemed to suggest that this device would be called the iPhone 6c.

Then, late last week, 9to5Mac said that no, the new 4-inch device was not going to be called the iPhone 6c, but instead will be called the iPhone 5se. Now according to “sources” this device is going to have the same look at the iPhone 6/6s, feature the 8/1.2MP cameras and A8/M8 processors [an update to the rumor now says A9/M9 from the iPhone 6s, making the 5se name seem even more ridiculous] from the iPhone 6, have the wireless chipset and color options of the iPhone 6s. It also allegedly comes with the Live Photos feature.

According to 9to5Mac, “the upcoming ‘5se’ features a design similar to 2013’s flagship but upgraded internals, software, and hardware features that blend the old design with modern technologies from the past two iPhone upgrades,” but then goes on to say that the “chamfered, shiny edges” as found on the old iPhone 5s “have been replaced with curved glass like on the iPhone 6 and 6s lines.”

Confused? I am.

Let’s take a quick recap of where we are. Officially, we know nothing. There are some supply chain indicators that suggest Apple is preparing a 4-inch offering, but as far as real evidence goes, we’re in Bigfoot territory.

The hardware specs sound plausible enough, but the name makes no sense. The iPhone 6c made sense, while this iPhone 5se stuff feels cumbersome, weird, and nonsensical. Why?

Here’s why:

Given the rumor we have, how exactly is this device related to the iPhone 5s? The only thing it seems to share is the display technology, but that was true of the iPhone 6.

Why is Apple naming a new device after a handset that was released almost two-and-a-half years ago? Way to make it sound appealing.

“iPhone 5se” sounds like Apple’s kludgiest name to date. I know that Apple names have become weirder over the past few years (for example, the MacBook Air isn’t Apple’s lightest MacBook), but this “special edition” takes that to a new level.

Then there’s the whole reason for a 4-inch iPhone in the first place. It seems to go something like “blah blah, cheaper iPhone, blah blah blah, some people want smaller displays, blah blah.” Given that Apple could very well have sold 75 million iPhones over the last quarter, it’s hard to see who these people holding back on buying iPhones are.

Maybe it’s just a ploy to shore up sales in the face of a predicted 5.7 percent drop over the coming year. But still, it feels more like a “throw it at the wall and see if it sticks” approach that’s more befitting of Samsung rather than Apple.

But if its purpose it to bolster sales, why lumber this device with such a weird name that links it back to an antique handset? Why not just call this the iPhone mini or something? Maybe the idea is that linking it back to the iPhone 5s will put the brakes on this device cannibalizing sales of the newer, higher-priced handset.

I don’t know. Seems sketchy to me. I suppose we’ll have to wait

Tea Selling Old Couple Teaches a Lesson In Humanity

0

This is the Story of an Inspiring Indian from Goa who loves to travel. He is Deelip Menezes and his experience of meeting an old couple is buzzing all over the facebook for the last

Deelip Menezes shared his first-hand experience of humanity while he was on a road trip heading towards Lambasingi from Narsipatnam. Check out what happened on his way.

1

“While riding early morning from Narsipatnam to Lambasingi, I stopped at a village for breakfast. There was a table set out outside a hut along the village road and an old man was making tea. I asked for a cup of tea and something to eat. The old man pointed to the tea and then said something in his local language that I didn’t understand. I made the sign for food and he turned to his wife who was standing close by. She pointed me to a bench outside their hut, asked me to sit down and went inside the hut. After a few moments, she emerged with a place of idlis and chutney which I enjoyed along with the tea.”

idli second image“After I was done I asked the old man how much I owed him and he replied with “5 rupees”. I knew I was in one of the most backward areas of India, but 5 bucks seemed too less for a plateful of idlis with chutney and a tea. I showed my astonishment using sign language and the old man pointed to the tea once again. I pointed to the empty plate of idlis and his wife said something which I again didn’t understand. But it seemed that they were charging me only for the tea.”

Chai Third Image

“I protested and pointed to the plate once again and they both smiled at me. That was the moment I realized that theirs was merely a tea stall and they had given me some of their own breakfast, which meant there would be less for their family to eat that morning.

I stayed quiet for a moment as I wrapped my head around what had just happened. I then reached into my wallet, took out some money and handed it to the old man. He refused to take it, but I insisted and after some pleading he finally gave in.”

“As I rode up the ghat to Lambasingi I couldn’t stop thinking about the old couple and the life lesson I learned from them. You haven’t truly given until you have given till it hurts.”

Hotel Fourth Image

Deelip updated his post and added another piece of important information yesterday which I’m sure most of us would want to ask by the end of this story. Where can we find these cuties?

Here is the location on Google Map –> https://goo.gl/maps/vkeNdXj3Ze52

“If you happen to visit this place, please tell the old couple that the tall bearded guy from Goa with the big white motorcycle said Hi,” says Deelip.

Thanks so much for reminding us that it is our humility that defines us, not our profession, not our education.

Have you met Royal Enfield’s latest beast – Himalayan ?

0

Apart from Old Monk, if there’s one Indian brand that has managed to capture the imagination of the nation as a cult brand, it is Royal Enfield.

The ‘Bullet’ as it is traditionally called, was founded as the Enfield Cycle Company in 1893 and had originally begun operations by making bicycles, lawn mowers and engines as well. However, over the decades, it has gained a legendary reputation for its bikes.

While older Bullets were criticised for their maintenance issues, models released in the recent years have had improved maintenance issues and after-sales service. However, the company hasn’t altered the model too much. The look and feel of the models has remained more or less the same.

All that is set to change, however, with the introduction of the latest model from the Royal Enfield stable – the Royal Enfield Himalayan.

The 411cc monster comes with dirt-bike features like the rear wheel, and is speculated to be priced less than INR 2,00,000. Here are some of the pictures of the bike. Happy drooling!!

Delhi University’s New System Ensures Low Grades!! Here Find Out How?

0

By Siddharth Naidu

Ever heard that you’ve got Second Grade even after scoring a full monty, i.e, 100 of 100. And that is not even when you are tied with anyone. – Sheesh!! How is that technically possible brah! – Well, that is exactly what happened with the recent First Semester results at Delhi University (DU). Teachers and Students have found out that to achieve the top ‘O’ grade (‘outstanding’) in some subjects under the Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS), students have to score over, 100% marks.

And there goes your chance of becoming an Auror (Generic Harry Potter joke, I know!)

giphy

How Is That You Ask?

For Starters

The CBCS needs the examiners to convert absolute marks into letter grades and grade points through a UGC-devised formula. And when was this devised and how, no man knows.

giphy (2)

For Main Course

To get an ‘O’ grade, Students need to obtain marks equal or greater than the sum of the mean and 2.5 times the standard deviation. This method has made ‘O’ unachievable for the students of Biomedical Sciences, Biological Sciences and Biochemistry.

giphy (1)

For Crying Out Loud

Kirori Mal College Economics teacher, Saumyajit Bhattarcharya, used the UGC formula for 2013 scores in an optional paper written by 102 students. He realised then that to achieve an ‘O’, they would have score 108 and for ‘A+’, they need 100 marks.

giphy (3)

For Even that is Odd

He also found out that while students in First Year History most students got ‘O’, but in the more scoring paper such as, Mathematics there was not a single ‘O’ grader. Instead, most of the students got B grade in the subject which Bhattarcharya says is due to the UGC grading method.

ezgif.com-optimize

For The Love Of Mankind

Teachers fear that this problem may affect other subjects too, as a student’s’ grade is related to examinees across DU and has little to do with individual performance. “A candidate’s grade depends on the performance of all DU students who took that exam. The minimum passing mark too is decided by the cohort. A standard 40% is meaningless,” they concur.

Ben Affleck was originally offered to direct the predecessor, Man of Steel (2013), but turned down the offer saying he wasn’t experienced in visual effects shots: “A lesson I’ve learned is to not look at movies based on budget, how much they’ll spend on effects or where they will shoot. Story is what’s important.” He was later cast to portray Bruce Wayne/Batman in the sequel.

According to some rumours, Jared Leto as The Joker, will have a cameo in a Post Credit scene, which will be the opening scene of Suicide Squad. In addition to that, Superman will know the existence of The Joker throughout the movie and he will haunt Batman with it. Heath Ledger played Joker in the previous Batman movie: The Dark Knight (2008). He also won Best Actor (Posthumous) Oscar for the role.

PUMP UP LIKE A PRO…!!

giphy3

Henry Cavill put on twice the amount of muscle mass for this film than he did for Man of Steel (2013). His trainer said that it was possible because Cavill had kept up a lot of his Superman fitness regimes in the break between the two films, so they were able to build on that foundation and achieve an even bigger body this time around.

A MOVIE THAT TOOK 15 YEARS TO MAKE…!!!

The film was originally pitched in August 2001 by Andrew Kevin Walker, with Wolfgang Petersen to direct and Akiva Goldsman to script. Goldman’s script had Bruce Wayne’s fiancée slain by the Joker, which sends him on a revenge rampage and brings him into conflict with Superman who tries to stop him. The film was shelved, but in Goldsman’s I Am Legend (2007), a teaser poster for the film (the Superman shield inside a bat) was seen in the opening scene.

AWWW…..BATMAN GOT A BIT NEEDY..!!

giphy5

Ben Affleck stated in a interview that he had asked if he could have the batsuit when filming was complete. The producers said yes, but that he’d have to pay $100,000 in order to keep it. Affleck quickly changed his mind and asked if he could just take a picture with it instead.

WILL THE REAL BATMAN, PLEASE STAND UP..!!

giphy6

Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Matthew Goode, Orlando Bloom, Luke Evans, Richard Armitage, Max Martini, Armie Hammer, Jensen Ackles, Joe Manganiello and Matthias Schoenaerts were all speculated to play the part of Bruce Wayne/Batman before Ben Affleck was chosen for the role.

I’M TOO OLD FOR THIS SHIT, YO!

giphy7

Ben Affleck is 18 months older than Christian Bale, marking the first time the actor taking on the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne is older than the actor who last played the role in a live action movie. All other Batman roles the actor succeeding the role has been younger than the actor who previously played the character. Val Kilmer took the role from Michael Keaton and he is 8 years younger. George Clooney, who is 18 months younger, took the role from Kilmer. Bale is 13 years younger than Clooney.

WE HAVE ONE VACANCY, SO WE ARE GONNA HAVE.. TRYOUTS..!!

giphy8Before Jesse Eisenberg was cast as Lex Luthor, Matt Damon, Bradley Cooper, Joaquin Phoenix, Adam Driver and Jean Dujardin were in the Warner Bros’s list to play the part.
Also, Bradley Cooper, Chris Pine, Ryan Kwanten, Matthew Fox and Scott Porter were all linked for the role of Barry Allen/The Flash in a previous iteration. Ezra Miller was cast.

WONDER!! WONDER!!

giphy9

This is Diana Prince/Wonder Woman’s first live action theatrical film appearance. The character has previously appeared in television programs and direct-to-DVD animated films.

REACH OUT AND TOUCH EXPERIENCE !!

giphy10

This will be the first ever film in 3D film to feature not just Batman, but Wonder Woman, Cyborg, The Flash and Aquaman. Superman’s first 3D film was the story before this one, Man of Steel (2013) and Green Lantern had a 3D film in Green Lantern (2011) which is not connected to this DC film franchise.

WHY SO SERIOUS….!?

giphy11

An appearance of the Robin’s suit is shown in the 2015’s Comic Con trailer. There are yellow letters on the suit which says “Hahaha. Jokes on you Batman.”
Confirming Jokers Return ( Jared Leto’s version) to haunt Batman.

By Varun Chinto

Wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant smashed his way into the record books with a 24-ball 78 as India colts gave Nepal a rude reality check by handing them a seven-wicket hammering to finish their league engagements unbeaten in the ICC U-19 World Cup on Monday.

India will either meet Bangladesh or Namibia in the quarter-final of the tournament.

Left-hander Pant, who is in the IPL wish list of many franchises in the upcoming auction on February 6, hit nine fours and five sixes during his fastest 50 in the U-19 World Cup history as India cruised to the victory target of 170 in only 18.1 overs.

16 Performances Of Brahmi Which Will Remain Forever Green

0

Brahmanandam – A name which itself carries some enigma around entertainment. Brahmi acted not only in Telugu but also in Tamil and Hindi. Everyone laughs when he just appears on the screen. People smile when they hear his name. The heights achieved by Brahmanandam has not been achieved by anyone as a comedy actor. He is currently holding Guinness World Record for acting in most number of movies

Though now we are quite bored with his routine appearance on the screen, there was time when we enjoyed him on screen without any doubt. These are those few performances where he excelled in tickling our bones and still remains as the best laughing therapy for most of us.

A very happy birthday to Padma Sri Dr. Brahmanandam.

Fantastic Wizard Schools From JK Rowling and Where To Find Them

0

By Siddharth Naidu

So as it were, JK Rowling, who  never ceases to surprise us with her fictionally fresh and  creatively orgasmic factoids about the world of Harry Potter, has just dropped a huge one and well, the world as we know it, is going bonkers. The fact at hand, is the introduction of three unique and diverse schools of Magic, in hitherto unheard countries. And JK Rowling, if this wasn’t enough, revealed that there more to come as well, ergo, as there are Eleven of them! Do yourself a favor, for the love of wand, read on!

giphy (1)CASTELOBRUXO – Pronounced :[Cass – tell – o – broo – shoo]

Wizarding-School-Map-Castelobruxo

Prospectus

How To Broom ride there : The Brazilian school for magic, which takes students from all over South America, may be found hidden deep within the rainforest. The fabulous castle appears to be a ruin to the few Muggle eyes that have ever fallen upon itgiphy (2)

InfraStructural Marvel : Castelobruxo is an imposing square edifice of golden rock, often compared to a temple. Both building and grounds are protected by the Caipora, small and furry spirit-beings who are extraordinarily mischievous and tricky, and who emerge under cover of night to watch over the students and the creatures who live in the forest.

giphy (3)

Administrative Peeves : Former Castelobruxo Headmistress Benedita Dourado was once heard to laugh heartily, on an exchange visit to Hogwarts, when Headmaster Armando Dippet complained of Peeves the poltergeist. Her offer to send him some Caipora for the Forbidden Forest ‘to show you what trouble really  was not accepted.

giphy (4)

Dress and Robe Code : Castelobruxo students wear bright green robes and are especially advanced in both Herbology and Magizoology; the school offers very popular exchange programmes for European students, who wish to study the magical flora and fauna of South America.

giphy (5)

Esteemed Alumni and Where To Find Them : Castelobruxo has produced a number of famous ex-students, including one of the world’s most famous potioneers, Libatius Borage (author of, among other works, Advanced Potion-Making, Asiatic Anti-Venoms and Have Yourself a Fiesta in a Bottle!), and João Coelho, Captain of the world-renowned Quidditch team the Tarapoto Tree- Skimmers.

giphy (6)

Fun Fact : It was one of these trips that Bill Weasley’s parents could not afford, causing his disappointed penfriend at Castelobruxo to send him something nasty in the post.

giphy (7)

Mahoutokoro – Pronunciation :[Mah – hoot – o – koh – ro]

Wizarding-School-Map-Mahoutokoro

Prospectus

Apparition Destination! : The ornate and exquisite palace of Mahoutokoro is made of mutton-fat jade, and stands on the topmost point of the ‘uninhabited’ (or so Muggles think) Volcanic island of Minami Iwo Jima.

giphy (9)

Historical Parchments! : This ancient Japanese school has the smallest student body of the eleven great wizarding schools and takes students from the age of seven (although they do not board until they are eleven). While day students, wizarding children are flown back and forth to their homes every day on the backs of a flock of giant storm petrels.

giphy (10)

Robes Maketh A Wizard! : Students are presented with enchanted robes when they arrive, which grow in size as they do, and which gradually change colour as the learning of their wearer increases, beginning a faint pink colour and becoming (if top grades are achieved in every magical subject) gold. If the robes turn white, this is an indication that the student has betrayed the Japanese wizard’s code and adopted illegal practices (which in Europe we call ‘Dark’ magic) or broken the International Statute of Secrecy.

giphy (11)

The Game,My Dear, Is On! Mahoutokoro’s reputation rests not only on its impressive academic prowess, but also on its outstanding reputation for Quidditch, which, legend has it, was introduced to Japan centuries ago by a band of foolhardy Hogwarts students who were blown off course during an attempt to circumnavigate the globe on wholly inadequate broomsticks.

giphy (12)

Eye On The Ball, Yo! : Every member of the Japanese Quidditch team and the current Champion’s League winners (the Toyohashi Tengu) attributes their prowess to the gruelling training they were given at Mahoutokoro, where they practise over a sometimes turbulent sea in stormy conditions, forced to keep an eye out not only for the Bludgers but also for planes from the Muggle airbase on a neighbouring island.

giphy (13)

Uagadou – Pronunciation : [Wag-a-doo]

Wizarding-School-Map-Uagadou

Prospectus

Geo-Pin Us Here The only address ever given is ‘Mountains of the Moon’; visitors speak of a stunning edifice carved out of the mountainside and shrouded in mist, so that it sometimes appears simply to float in mid-air. Much (some would say all) magic originated in Africa, and Uagadou graduates are especially well versed in Astronomy, Alchemy and Self-Transfiguration.

giphy (14)

Jewel Of Nile, Kinda Although Africa has a number of smaller wizarding schools, there is only one that has stood the test of time (at least a thousand years) and achieved an enviable international reputation: Uagadou. The largest of all wizarding schools, it welcomes students from all over the enormous continent.

giphy (15)

Point and Swish, Is all! The wand is a European invention, and while African witches and wizards have adopted it as a useful tool in the last century, many spells are cast simply by pointing the finger or through hand gestures. This gives Uagadou students a sturdy line of defence when accused of breaking the International Statute of Secrecy (‘I was only waving, I never meant his chin to fall off’).

giphy (16)

Bring The Party On! At a recent International Symposium of Animagi, the Uagadou School Team attracted a lot of press when their exhibition of synchronised transforming caused a near riot. Many older and more experienced witches and wizards felt threatened by fourteen-year-olds who could turn at will into elephants and cheetahs, and a formal complaint was lodged with the International Confederation of Wizards by Adrian Tutley (Animagus: gerbil).

Going Places, Check!! : The long list of celebrated ex-students produced by Uagadou includes Babajide Akingbade, who succeeded Albus Dumbledore as the Supreme Mugwump of the International Confederation of Wizards.

giphy (18)

You Have One Unread-Dream : Students receive notice that they have gained entrance at Uagadou from Dream Messengers, sent by the headmaster or headmistress of the day. The Dream Messenger will appear to the children as they sleep and will leave a token, usually an inscribed stone, which is found in the child’s hand on waking. No other school employs this method of pupil selection.

#AmPrettyTough : This Dabur Gulabari Ad Has An Interesting Question On Looking Tough

0

By Siddharth Naidu

The latest Ad for Dabur Gulabari has a very interesting twist to the way judge people by their looks. It features Jaahnavi Sriperambuduru, the world’s youngest and the first Asian to scale Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Here is how it goes – A group of women decide to run a brave social experiment. They hand out some placards to a group of unassuming volunteers. A picture of a woman is shown on the screen, and they are asked to answer what her hobbies could possible be. The placards, as it were, contain their options, and one by one each of them pick what they think could be the right answer. What happens next is something totally unexpected. Watch the video and you’ll know why it speaks out to us in a way that nothing else will.

Here it is.

Caste Based Protests Turn Violent As Ratnachal Express Set On Fire

0

Protests for reservation turned violent in Andhra Pradesh Godavari district as protestors set fire to Ratnachal Express at Tuni. The protests had begun with stone pelting and slogans, but gradually spilled over to several bogies being set on fire. The protestors had been demanding that they be included in the OBC lists and the incident forced authorities to stop trains that were running between Vishakapatnam and Vijayawada stations.

Damage to police property was also reported, with the railway station also suffering extensive damage due to the rioting crowd.

The protests were done by members belonging to the Kapu community in coastal Andhra Pradesh. This comes in the wake of protests by other caste based groups in other states too. In Rajasthan, members of the Gujjar caste have been demanding inclusion in OBC list. In recent months, Hardik Patel’s agitation in Gujarat on behalf of Patels in Gujarat caused the entire nation to sit up and take notice.

This Song By Transgender Band featuring Sonu Nigam Will Move You

0

Bu Varun Chinto

Last month Y- Films, youth wing of Yash Raj Films collaborated with Sonu Nigam and launched India’s first transgender band called 6-Pack Band. It was very well received and appreciated by the country. Their first song ‘Hum Hain Happy’ was a hit with over 1 million views and their second song released recently called ‘Sab Rab De Bande’ is striking a chord with many.

The video of the song tells a compelling story, reflective of a deeply rooted mindset; lack of acceptance and discrimination but it ends on a positive note depicting hope and change.

Apple Could Deliver Wireless Charger for Mobile Devices as Soon as 2017

Apple is developing the technology that would allow its iPhones and iPads to be charged without using the current charging mats, Bloomberg reported, citing unnamed sources.

Apple will introduce Wireless Chargers for iPhones

After introducing wireless charging in Apple’s smart watches, Apple is now working on long distance wireless charging for future iPhones. Watches with this technology still needs to be put on the top of the magnetic cradle to charge.

According to the Bloomberg reports, Apple is working with partners in the United States and Asia to develop the new wireless chargers for iPhones and this new technology for iPhones will be ready for public by 2017.

apple-ipad-pro

If you recall, two years ago, Windows launched its windows 8 phone – Lumia 920, with wireless technology. Then Samsung came to the race and launched dual mode wireless charging on its Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge Phones.

This technology is all cool, but having a big drawback makes it a hard to apply with the low-cost phones. Your phone and charger should be very close together to work. But still the charging is not very efficient compared to our old wire chargers.

As the world is growing and growing with new technologies in hand, we just can’t imagine what else in store for us.

This Italian Town Welcomes Its First Baby In 28 Years

0

The alpine town of Ostana witnessed the birth of Pablo, the first child born in this town in 28 years.

Pablo, his father and mother Josè Berdugo Vallelago and Silvia Rovere respectively, sisters Clara and Alice, form 10% of the this town’s population.

Ostana was home to 1000 people a century ago. Since then the population has been declining drastically. In 1980s the population of this town was only 5. The last baby was born in 1987.

“At first I couldn’t believe it was true,”  said Giacomo Lombardo, the town’s mayor. “The news almost shocked me. It’s a dream come true.”

Josè had moved to this town where he unexpectedly got a call to manage an alpine refuge.

“When the city selected our project, we moved to Ostana, and we have never regretted our decision,” said Josè. “We love the quality of the life here. Ostana is a safe place for our daughters, and we feel part of this community.

The last time a child was born in this town was in 1987. Attempts have been made to increase the population by initiatives like investing in cultural activities and tourism to create new jobs and attract young people.

A variety of solutions have been tried: The Sicilian city of Gangi has offered abandoned houses for free, demanding only that their new owners renovate them; in other cases, entire villages have been put up for sale.

The town of Ostana who have celebrated the arrival of Pablo hope that this is a new beginning for their town and hope that they welcome more babies in future.

“We broke the ice,” said Josè, “and I hope other people will come here.”

The Director Of Saala Khadoos Is A Lady From Visakhapatnam

0

By Varun Chinto

The Tamil and Hindi versions of the film released simultaneously on 29 January 2016, Irudhi Suttru/ Saala Khadoos has won positive reviews from film critics and mixed response from audiences. But, what makes this special for us? It is the director, Sudha Kongara Prasad.

You will be little suprised to know this lady director is from Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Sudha was born in the port city and did her schooling from Timpany Secondary School, Visakhapatnam.

She debuted as a screen writer for the Indian English film Mitr, My Friend, which won the Best English Film of the year award at the 49th National Film Awards. She then worked as associate director for seven years with Mani Ratnam.

Earlier she directed Andhra Andagadu (Telugu) in 2008 and Drohi (Tamil) in 2010. Apparently it is romoured that Venkatesh is considering to remake this movie in Telugu.

Though we have a couple of lady directors, except Nandini Reddy, we haven’t seen anyone active off late. Hope Sudha Kongara Prasad fills that space.

A Touching Letter By Dalit Student’s Mother To Rohith Vemula’s Family And Friends

0

By Varun Chinto

Aniket Ambhore, a Dalit student, a fourth year dual-degree electrical engineering student at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, was found dead on 4th September, 2014 under mysterious circumstances in the campus.

After his death Aniket’s parents Mrs. Sunita Ambhore and Mr. Sanjay Ambhore submitted a 10-page testimony to the IIT-B director which explains various forms of caste-discriminations faced by Aniket on the campus. After this, an enquiry committee was set up to enquire into the death. Inspite of continuous demands from Aniket’s family and friends, the report has not yet been made public or even shared with IIT-B community. Here is what Aniket’s mother Mrs. Sunita Ambhore wrote to Rohith Vemula’s family and friends.

To the family and friends of Rohith,

After going through the last letter written by Rohith Vemula, I am feeling very restless, very suffocated. A researcher who in the name of punishment did not receive his fellowship for seven months and was thrown out of the hostel, all in an attempt to break him to his core. Though Rohith has not blamed anybody in his letter, it is very heart wrenching. I can see the similarities between the thoughts of the two, Aniket and Rohith, and I am trying to understand what pain they must have gone through. Aniket did not leave behind any letter, but from the sentences scattered here and there in his diary, in poetries I found that both of them had the same state of mind towards the end of their lives.

Aniket also talked about equality, and even supported and whole heartedly empathized with the struggles of transgender or his “Saathi‟ friends. He also had a lot of concern for his parents. He was struggling to find answers about caste, reservation, god etc. He was fighting against the discriminatory mindset which he had to face ever since he started preparing for IIT entrance exam.

When a person gets tired of fighting with powerful forces, only then is he overcome with an “emptiness‟, which can be seen in my son‟s and Rohit’s life. This is frightening for one who is sensitive, thinks a lot and wants to realize his dreams. Such people due to their nature do not blame others but come to a point when they are unable to go on any more, they feel empty. Why would Aniket think so much? We always saw him laughing, performing mimicry, singing. What was there in IIT that my son forgot to smile. After his death the doctor told us that Aniket was confused. But Science and Mathematics were his favorite subjects from the beginning, then how could he have become confused?

In IIT, Aniket must have suffered the emptiness and hidden insult a lot. This was not in a direct but an indirect way, for he faced it in everyday discussions and in the name of advice, sometimes by peers and sometimes by faculty members. Not only IIT but other prestigious higher educational institutions also possess this egoistic way of thinking. Those who befriend students who come to these institutes through reservations keep saying, “Look, you and I have a similar economic background, yet you have received special facilities because of your caste…reservation is wrong” and other such things.

That is why Aniket had started searching for the roots of caste. Vedic religion, books and such knowledge are shown to be true and given a scientific form in these prestigious institutions and their ideas are drilled into the heads of the students even now. But when the students face a problem due to caste bias, there is no support system that the institute provides. There is no counseling for these problems, they are not even recognised as a problem, but put across as a fact that a category student has to face. Availing reservation is treated as a crime. If you have availed of reservation then you are expected to face the arguments and judgments of people, this is the mentality of the savarnas. Aniket and other children are not treated empathetically, their problems are instead framed as issues of low academic ability, parental pressure, high self-expectation so that savarnas do not have to deal with the actual issue on hand.

Aniket had lost his identity. “Who am I”- why would such a question trouble him? Why did Aniket become concerned about graha, stars, soul- supreme soul or the other world after coming to IIT? We don‟t know where his positive thinking, creative mind and his smile disappeared. Our only crime was that we sent him to IITB with a category certificate. If he had studied in ordinary institutions then at least he would not have to listen to so many discussions and advice which weakened his mind. That he is incapable, who gave such a feeling to my able, sensible, jolly Aniket? We have not yet received any replies to the letters we sent to various important official authorities like MHRD and Scheduled Castes Commission. After our request, IIT Bombay did set up an inquiry committee but no changes were brought about in its institutional functioning, nobody has even informed us about the inquiry report. Perhaps they do not think it necessary to give answers….

We feel very small in our own eyes. But Rohith’s incident has once again highlighted the matter. Both Aniket and Rohith faced different conditions, but the reason they had to struggle was the same. I don‟t know till when will our children fight this hidden casteism. We too are fighting it…

Students’ agitation is the only remaining hope. Perhaps only the students will be able to wake up the dormant system. We are waiting to see some solace for the pain suffered by Rohith‟s family and the dalit society….
Aniket’s mother,
Sunita Ambhore

Ministry of External Affairs Calls ‘Airlift’ Inaccurate

0

Airlift, the Akshay Kumar film that won decent reviews from Indian critics last week, narrates the story of the Indian Air Force evacuating more than a lakh Indian citizens in Kuwait.

While the story has been called inspirational and thrilling, the Ministry of External Affairs doesn’t seem to be too impressed with the film.

“Now, films often take liberties with actual events, with facts and this particular film has also taken a lot of artistic liberties in the depictions of the events as they actually happened in Kuwait in 1990,” Ministry spokerperson Vikas Swarup was reported as saying.

By the way, Vikas Swarup is a diplomat and author, and his novel Q&A was the basis for the Hollywood blockbuster Slumdog Millionaire.

Airlift is directed by Raja Menon, who had earlier directed the critically acclaimed Barah Aana, starring Naseruddin Shah and Vijay Raaz. Here is the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Mr. Vikas Swarup’s take on the film.

Why Not A Girl? : Amazing Short Film That Provokes A Sensible Thought In You

0

The birth of a girl child has always been looked down in our society. It’s a bitter truth which many in the society wouldn’t dare to admit. We give long lectures to the world about keeping our women important but when it comes to giving birth to a girl child, there is a second thought.

Based on this thought, the much awaited short film, Why not a Girl? starring Nandu is up and has garnered good response form every one. Putting a question straight up on your face – Why not a girl?, this short film sends across a message with the title itself and has justified the buzz it created. And that song especially – Janme neekisthu leaves you in pensive mood on how you’ve got to be matured in the these times leaving the stereotyped thoughts behind.

Though on one side we have people proud of their daughters, on the other side we have people who still think giving birth to a girl child is a burden. There is no bigger domestic violence than restricting the birth of a girl child. Restrict that thought instead!

Bringing out a thought provoking concept and questioning the importance of a girl child’s birth, Bhargavi Reddy and Varun Kumar Ponnam have come up with this short film and have been successful in getting it right. A special mention to needs to be given to the director, Sunil Puppala who also provided some amazing lines and screenplay.

Kudos to the entire team in coming up with a short film like this. We proudly would advice you to watch it right away! You can thank us later!! 🙂

India Ranks 76th In List Of Least Corrupt Nations

0

Improving from the last year’s position by 9 ranks, India now stands at 76th position in global corruption index. Denmark leads the table staying at the top for the second time consecutively. The index was prepared using the data from institutions including World Bank and the African Development Bank.

India shares its position with Thailand, Brazil, Tunisia, Zambia and Burkina Faso. According to Berlin-based Transparency International, 68 per cent of countries worldwide have a serious corruption problem and half of the G20 are among them.

“The 2015 Corruption Perceptions Index clearly shows that corruption remains a blight around the world. But 2015 was also a year when people again took to the streets to protest corruption. People across the globe sent a strong signal to those in power: it is time to tackle grand corruption,” said Jose Ugaz, Chair, Transparency International, global watchdog on graft and abuses of power.

UK made it into the top 10 this year, while US climbed up a rank to 16. The other top spots, from second to ninth, were occupied by Finland, Sweden, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, Singapore and Canada.

“Corruption can be beaten if we work together. To stamp out the abuse of power, bribery and shed light on secret deals, citizens must together tell their governments they have had enough,” Mr Ugaz said.

North Korea and Somalia are the tail-enders without any improvement since last year.

This Mumbai Hotel Will Fine You For Wasting Sambhar!

0

It is common to find people wasting some food in hotels. You paid for it, so you get to decide what and how much you want to eat, right?

Wrong!

If you happen to be eating at the Udipi Idli House, you better be careful about your leftover sambhar. In fact, we’d suggest you drink it all up.This hotel in Matunga, Mumbai has been in the news for charging its customers if they happen to leave some leftover sambhar while having their food.

The hotel, that is quite famous for its south Indian delicacies, charges customers an additional 13 rupees from customers who leave sambhar and rasam. The proprietors have cited rising prices of commodities for the reason. The decision has met with good response, and their customers are now thinking twice before ordering anything extra!

It’s time other hotels started this too!!

Jail Inmates Get ‘Item Number’ In Jail As Reward For Good Conduct

0

Remember when you behaved well in school and the teacher gave you a toffee? Even let you go out and play if she was in a good mood and the heavens were kind?

Something of that sort happened for a bunch of jail inmates in Karnataka, only, they were rewarded not with food or drinks, but with an ‘Item Number’ by the authorities. Interestingly, these inmates were being rewarded for ‘good conduct’.

The event was organised on Republic Day at the Vijayapura Jail. The jail is apparently a high-security prison, and video footage of a girl dancing to Bollywood songs has emerged.
Who says good behaviour is not rewarded? Ask these jail inmates!

Himesh Is Back!! Trailer For ‘Tera Suroor’ Seems Drunk AF

0

Himesh Reshammiya at one point, ruled the country’s music charts.

His songs were played in clubs, bars, discos, weddings, birthday parties, and in Goa. He was releasing albums, making music for movies, and starring in them. He also starred in a few big budget films, including a remake of Karz, called Karzzzzzz. And his debut film Aap ka Suroor, starring a very young Hansika Motwani.

The film didn’t really set the box office on fire, but Himesh Reshammiya pretty much faded into the background after that. His films sank, the albums dried up, and he wasn’t making music for films anymore.

But all that can rest. HIMESH IS BACK!!

After all these years, Himesh’s new films, a sequel to the film, is out. The trailer has Himesh looking like a pirated, Gujarati version of Rambo, along with his trademark tunes that had taken the whole nation by storm a few years ago. Here’s the trailer:

Here’s The List Of First 20 Smart Cities. Did Your City Make It?

0

The concept of ‘Smart Cities’ has been in discussion for a long time now.

It was one of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s key promises during his Prime Ministerial campaign in 2014, and finally, the Government has broken its silence on its plan to take the initiative forward.

The government has announced the list of 20 cities that will be developed as ‘Smart Cities’. As you can see from the list, metro cities weren’t taken into account. The government has mostly chosen Tier 2 cities to develop and bring them on par with the metro cities.

Interestingly, the cities were chosen on the basis of a ‘challenge’, wherein cities had to come up with their own plans and strategies on how they’d achieve the goals of being a smart city. The results were chosen on the basis of those proposals.

Did your city make it? Have a look and let us know.

13 Telugu Directors Who Turned Producers

0

Directors and Producers!! They are quite important for any film. They are the brain and backbone for most of the movies. The director knows the value of the script and the producer knows how to cater to the needs of the director.

Sometimes situations arise where only a director will have confidence in the script and no one else. Similar situations did arise in Telugu cinema and made the directors take up the challenge to produce the movie themselves. Maybe they wanted the script to be in safe hands.

Whatever be the reasons, here are some directors who donned the producer’s hat as well.

5 Indian Movies On Sports That Are Truly Inspiring

0

By Vaidehi Rawool

We Indians are fond of all things bright and extravagant, then may it be in terms of our festivals or food or celebrations or for that matter movies. The Indian Film Industry, better known as Bollywood occupies probably the second spot in the list of most loved things by us Hindustanis. If ever it receives any competition, it is only by another one of the favourites, sports. While cricket is lives in every Indian’s heart, most them have their heart, body and soul dedicated to this game, there are also other games like hockey, tennis, football which an average Indian takes interest in.

What happens when these two favourite meet together? Fireworks! Here’s a list of few of the best sports films in India which have enthralled and entertained audiences and made them hoot like crazy or cry with cry with sheer pleasure.

Lagaan…Once Upon Time In India

Lagaan

This movie which released in 2001 and was directed by Ashutosh Gowariker with Aamir Khan and Gracy Singh as protagonists captured the hearts of one and all. This film is about a drought ridden village which has been suppressed under the burden of land tax for a long time, when one lad comes to the forefront and asks for the waiver of the same. He challenges the British to a game of Cricket which incidentally none of his villagers including him, know how to play. For many this movie brought back memories of the freedom struggle and its underlying plots were received with much acclamation and applaud from all.

Chak De India

Chak De India

Released in 2007, this movie was directed by Shimit Amin and had an elaborate star-cast including Shah Rukh Khan. The time this movie was released was when India as country could barely remember the fact that it used to be the top hockey-team, which was its national sport. This story is about a tainted former hockey player who becomes the coach of the national women’s hockey team. Kabir Khan (Shah Rukh Khan) related to the team a lot because they are treated with the same disrespect, indifference and ignorance as him. The story of their victory not only made every Indian fall in love with hockey again but also brought back the feeling of Indian-ness amongst all. The 60 minute speech of Shah Rukh Khan before the world championship game is still drawn inspiration from.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag

This movie was directed by Rakesh Omprakash Mehra and starred Farhan Akhtar and Sonam Kapoor. A biographic of the life of one of India’s most iconic sportsman, the “flying sikh”. This movie depicted his journey from being just a lad to the world’s champion in the Olympics. This drama was most loved for its music as well Milkah Singh himself.

Mary Kom

Mary Kom

Released in 2014, Mary Kom is a biographical drama about the gold-medallist boxing champion Mary Kom. Priyanka Chopra who portrays the protagonist, won many hearts by throwing some really great punches. This movie shed light on a lot of Olympic champions who were living in the shadows in spite of the gold and silver medals their iconic wins.

Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal

Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal

Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, this movie released in 2007 and had a star cast of John Abrahim, Bipasha Basu and Arshad Warsi. The story was more on patriotic lines, it was about this football club in England which every other British rival club disliked. In spite of in numerous prejudices and other things working against them, this club still managed to win the match as well as hearts of people.

First Timers: French Army, Dog March, All Women Stunts For 67th Republic Day

0

With the 67th Republic day celebrations coming their way, the capital city is all geared up as usual on the Rajpath. We are used to watching the state culture parade, army squads marching in synchronisation and the army soldiers performing bike stunts. But, this time the parade has got few things that are happening for the first time. Yes, ofcourse the President of France, Francois Hollande is the chief guest. But, there is more to the list.

First time Foreign Army March

Foreign Army March

For the first time since 1950 a foreign army contingent will march down the Rajpath. The 35th Infantry Regiment of 7th Armoured Brigade will be marching alongside our army.

Army Dogs March

Army Dogs March

After 26 years, the army dogs will also be marching. A squad of 36 Labradors and German Shepherds will be walking down the Rajpath. The dogs also have been playing a crucial role in safe-guarding our lives through detection of explosives, guarding, etc. The army has given them their due respect by getting them on board this time.

All-Women Stunts

All-Women Stunts

The stunts performed on bikes are always a major attraction during the parades. But, for the first time an all-women stunt contingent will be showing that women are no less. The team that is named as ‘Women Daredevils CRPF’ comprising of 120 soldiers will be taking part.

So hope this excitement is enough to watch the parade unlike the usual parades we generally watch on a dry-holiday.

Aren’t These Terrorist Attacks Making Us More Vulnerable??

www.dawn.com

By Shreya oruganti

Just when Pakistan was probably hoping that 2016 would bring them a fresh hope after the December 2014 Peshawar attacks, they experienced a nightmare so close to what they were hoping would never happen again.

On the foggy morning of January 20th 2016 at 9:30 am, the Bacha Khan University located in Charsadda, Pakistan, was amidst its usual hustle bustle of lectures and classes when an inconceivable horror dawned upon them. In a classroom packed with students who were gathered for a poetry recital to honour the death anniversary of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, there was an impulsive entrance of four unknown men. Within a split second, the men who looked just like you and me began mercilessly firing at everyone. With multiple blasts occurring within the campus simultaneously, at least 21 people were killed and 60 injured. It was said that the walls of the campus were low and lacked appropriate security, making it easy for the assailants to jump over and enter the campus through the nearby fields.

Pakistan Terrorist Attacks

Pakistan Terrorist Attacks

Soon after the attacks, Nawaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan said “I’m deeply grieved over the attack, and we are determined and resolved in our commitment to wipe out the menace of terrorism from our homeland”. Narendra Modi, the prime minister of India, issued a statement on his Twitter account saying “Strongly condemn the terror attack at Bacha Khan University in Pakistan. Condolences to families of the deceased. Prayers with the injured”. Adding to the mayhem this attack had caused, a commander from the Pakistan Taliban group – Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, claimed responsibility adding that four attackers were sent to the university. But soon enough, the spokesperson for the Pakistan Taliban issued a statement declaring that the attack was in no way associated with them and described the entire act as “un-islamic”.

Pakistan Terrorist Attacks

With the persistent terrorist attacks taking place almost all over the world, be it India, Paris or Pakistan, the public now feels extremely vulnerable and unsafe. For quite some time, the civilians have been made scapegoats in order to gain the government’s attention. Are our lives limited to fearing and protecting ourselves from further terrorist attacks? How safe are we? Why do we have to fear to send our children to educational institutions, wondering if they would ever return home? Why are we being terrorised, expecting to get attacked any moment? Where is the end to all this wreckage? When are we ever going to feel safe from the terror of anonymous individuals carrying out violence and ruthlessly justifying their actions? What is the world coming to?

With a little thought put into the present circumstances it can be easily understood that we, as an entire population of varied ideologies have been faulting somewhere. If we think further, we could begin to correct those faults. To begin with, countries need to stop funding the terrorist organisations and stop arming them. Violence needs to be curbed and there has to be and end to torturing people. Alienation of any particular race, culture, or group needs to end. One of the main reasons a group resorts to violence is because they are alienated from the general society. Everyone needs to stop fighting for oil. We all know how important the debate about the ownership of oil is, but it’s seriously not worth creating wars.

Countries need to begin working on crucial yet quintessential factors like health, poverty, unemployment, corruption, education, and hunger. Terrorism, in any way, is not holy or religious, terrorism is brutality to the human race. It is sheer violence. The ideology persisting among the majority of people cannot change within a day, but destruction will never cease to stop until one doesn’t begin realising that we, the people are solely in charge of what we do with our lives. Understand that what the world has come to now is a result of our actions. Hopefully, this understanding will pave the way for a better world.

Following Traffic Rules Will Land You A Selfie With Police Officers on Facebook

0

If you take a look closely, Hyderabad traffic police have been striving in every way to ensure that we follow the basic traffic rules. The imposition of challans or constant checking of vehicles have gone rigorous for quite some time now.

They are not just standing beside the roads and seeing that we follow traffic rules, but have been quite active on social media with campaigns to follow traffic rules. What comes more interesting is the Police department under the SP of Ranga Reddy District have come up with an initiative to take selfies with citizens who follow traffic rules.

You might be wondering – ‘what is it to take a selfie with a police officer? I hardly know him.’

True, you hardly know him! But, they won’t stop there. You will feature on their facebook page which will show, if not to the whole world, the people around you that you are a law abiding citizen. You will definitely be a role model to many.

12552681_173983969634710_4157275654541455740_n12438986_173984039634703_4045867668708684132_n12439041_173984009634706_362247607568044917_n

Even the police officer won’t get any benefit from taking a selfie with you except the satisfaction that there are law abiding citizens around them who know how to take care of themselves by following rules.

What else do they need?

Follow traffic rules. Be a role model! Be a citizen!!

6 Novels To Read That Will Give You The Needed Peacefulness In Life

0

By Mayur Mahajan

“The more you read, the more things you know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” Dr Seuss said.

Here are just a few books that span everything from sparking your creative life, to finding peace in your home through cleaning, advice columns for everyday blunders, and more. Hopefully you’ll find one that’s just the right fit for what you need. I’m betting you will.

1. Happiness

Happiness-Mathieu Ricard

French scientist-turned-Buddhist-monk Mathieu Ricard is one of our greatest intellectual heroes. In Happiness: A Guide to Developing Life’s Most Important Skill, he distills 25 centuries of Buddhist spiritual tradition alongside bleeding-edge neuroscience and the most compelling findings of Western cognitive psychology — an intelligent and refreshing vision for fusing the life of the mind and the life of the heart into a path of genuine psych emotional fulfilment.

2. The Art of Happiness

The Art of Happiness-Dalai Lama

The Art of Happiness, a landmark articulation of the philosophy of peace and compassion as a foundation of happiness by Gyatso, His Holiness the Fourteenth Dalai Lama, has served as a powerful guide to well-being for secular and spiritual happiness seekers alike for the past twelve years.

“If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.” – His Holiness the Fourteenth Dalai Lama

The Art of Happiness captures with eloquent simplicity the most important point of all: Happiness, like any art, requires diligent study and disciplined practice.

3. The Happiness Hypothesis

The Happiness Hypothesis-Jonathan Haidt

In The Happiness Hypothesis: Finding Modern Truth in Ancient Wisdom, psychology professor Jonathan Haidt unearths ten great theories of happiness discovered by the thinkers of the past, from Plato to Jesus to Buddha, to reveal a surprising abundance of common tangents.

Human rationality depends critically on sophisticated emotionality. It is only because our emotional brains work so well that our reasoning can work at all.

4. Stumbling upon Happiness

Stumbling upon Happiness-Daniel Gilbert

Nearly four years ago, Harvard psychologist Daniel Gilbert published Stumbling On Happiness. To this day, it remains the best-researched yet captivatingly digestible book on the art and science of happiness, exposing with equal parts wit and scientific rigor the many misconceptions we have about happiness, the tricks our minds play on us in its pursuit and how the limitations of our imagination get in the way of the grand quest.

5. The Gifts of Imperfections

The Gifts of Imperfections-Brene Brown

Berne Brown is no ordinary sociologist. She calls herself, quite accurately, a “researcher-storyteller” and her seminal research on vulnerability, shame and empathy has brought about a whole new understanding of an intricate dimension of human authenticity and worth: Something she calls “wholeheartedness.” Her most recent bookThe Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You’re Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are, isn’t the self-help bible the title may mislead you to expect. Rather, it’s a treasure trove of insight on emotional health and psychological balance, rooted in a decade’s worth of rigorous research but delivered in a deeply human way.

6. Authentic Happiness

Authentic Happiness-Martin Seligman

Back in the day, we had the pleasure of studying under Dr. Martin Seligman, father of the thriving positive psychology movement — a potent antidote to the traditional “disease model” of psychology, which focuses on how to relieve suffering rather than how to amplify well-being. Authentic Happiness: Using the New Positive Psychology to Realize Your Potential for Lasting Fulfilment offers a toolkit for harnessing our core strengths to make everyday interactions more fulfilling, complete with a range of assessment tools and self-tests rooted in cognitive science and behavioural psychology research.

5 Characters From Mahabharata Who Are Way Cooler Than Depicted

0

By- Gautam Sidharth

Mahabharata is not simply called an epic. The way the story has been narrated from different perspectives and the detailed explanation or reasoning every character has been given – all adds up to making it an epic. We have number of positive or heroic roles as well as bad ass guys. However, some characters have not been interpreted and perceived in the way they deserve to have been. A closer look at these characters will justify my statement.

SHAKUNI

shakuni

The grand juari (gambler), the vamp of Mahabharata, the evil uncle who instigated his nephew against the Pandavas, thus beginning the war that ended the reign of the Kuru empire, Shakuni was many things. But little do people know about his life. What really made him so? It is said that in some military campaign of the Kuru empire, Gandhara (Shakuni’s home) came under attack from Hastinapur (belonged to Kaurvas or the Kuru empire). Hastinapur conquered Gandhar, killed its King and imprisoned all the male members (Shakuni and his 100 brothers). All of them, being prisoners of war, were not given much food (one grain of rice each per day as stated in the texts).

To make at least one of them survive all the other members gave their share to Shakuni, the most cunning of them all, so that he could live on to take revenge. Later the Gandhar Kingdom entered a truce and Shakuni’s sister Gandhari was married to Dhritarashtra, the Head of the Kuru Kingdom. Shakuni was pissed because his sister Gandhari was married off to a Blind Horny Man who had destroyed his life and family. It is well known that Gandhari had a hundred children! It was this event that made him ever so determined to shred the Kuru empire to pieces! Shakuni then carved from the bones of his dead parents’ dice that never lost him a game. Shakuni’s father’s soul was said to have entered the dice and it would roll to whatever number he desired. An expert in the game of “chausar” he successfully transmitted this ‘harmless’ vice to the Kauravas. It was through this game later that the foundation for the bloodiest battle in the Indian history was laid!

SANJAYA

Sanjaya

Sanjaya, the minister and charioteer of Maharaja Dhritarashtra, was the King’s first choice for diplomatic missions. He is also the man through whose eyes we witness the battle of Kurukshetra. The Mahabharta begins with “Sanjaya uvachh” or thus spoke Sanjaya. Blessed with the ability to see the war from a far off place Sanjaya delivers excruciating details about the same to the King such as the detailed account of the death of his hundred sons.

However some scholars debate this ability because the Mahabharta begins with Sanjaya narrating the death of Bhishma, the army commander for the Kaurvas or the Kuru empire, and since Bhishma’s death took place on the tenth day of the war, it is believed that Sanjaya was present on the battlefield for the first ten days of the battle and only returned to Hastinapur once he was dead, thereby narrating the events that had taken place on the first ten days of the war, the army formations, battle strategies, so on and so forth. So basically we owe a lot to him, had he not come back from the war, the epic would never have existed.

SHIKANDI

SHIKANDI

Fighting for the Pandavas, Shikhandi, arguably the first transgender to have been officially registered in the texts is an unusual character. It is believed that Shikhandi was born a woman but was raised as a man by her father. Other stories state that Shikhandi was a woman Amba in her previous life who was abducted by Bhishma from her swayamvara (so abductions were a common thing for the Haryanvis even then), Bhishma wanted to claim her and her sisters for his brother. But since Amba was in love with someone else, she was exempted. – (Yeah, right! – he had the other two sisters).

But when Amba reached her boyfriend, he kicked her out because he fancied her no more. Broken Amba requested Bhishma to marry her typical ‘Khap panchayat mentality’ but Bhishma refused as he had taken a vow of celibacy. Amba then vowed to destroy Bhishma. She wandered off to the forests and indulged in austerities. Shiva then, impressed by her devotion gave her the boon of being born as a male (lol!) in the next life. Thus was born Shikhandi, against whom Bhishma refused to fight as she was a woman. (wow..not shy to abduct a woman but are shy to fight her…bloody hypocrite!)

EKALAVYA

EKALAVYA

Refused the right to education by Drona, the Pandava guru (because he belonged to an outcast tribe of Hastinapur), Eklavya self-trained in the art of archery. Once Drona was roaming in the jungle with the Pandavas and Arjuna came across a dog whose mouth had been so skillfully shut by arrows that it did not kill the creature but only prevented the thing from barking.

Impressed by the skill, Drona called upon the archer, to his surprise it was Eklavya who had learnt the art by devoting himself to a statue made out of dirt that resembled his teacher. An insecure Arjuna was now having second thoughts about his guru’s promises of making him the world’s greatest archer.

A cunning drona then asked Eklavya to cut off his right thumb and give it to him as Guru Dakshina or fees. Eklavya did so without delay.

KARNA

KARNA

The son of Lord Surya and Queen Kunti, a bastard, he was insulted everywhere. He disguised himself as a Brahmin and became a disciple of Parasurama. His own brothers, the Pandavas, enjoyed the princely status but he had to make do with the selfish help from Duryodhana, the Kuru prince, for which he fought on the Kaurava’s side. In the unfair war Karna had many opportunities to kill his brothers the pandavas but he did not for he had made a promise to his mother Kunti that Arjuna would be the only Pandava he would kill.

Deceitfully killed when out of his chariot and weaponless by Arjun, his was not the righteous death. He stayed with Kauravas until his last breath out of friendship and a thankful heart. When we read Mahabharata, often the greatness of Karna is sidelined as he is portrayed on evil side.

Biggest Unsolved and Unexplained Mysteries Of All Times!

0

By Apeksha Tikko

Our civilization has advanced to such an extent that we are served with the answer to all our ‘why’s and ‘how’s before we even begin to ask.  But there are some mysteries that are beyond an explanation and still remain to haunt  all of us. Questions that nobody has an answer to. Questions that leave you perplexed and make you realize that there’s more to this world than we can see and a vast territory that is unexplored.

So here are the BIGGEST UNSOLVED and UNEXPLAINED mysteries of all times! Gear up to be puzzled!

1. ‘THE CIRCUS’ MYSTERY

We all love Sir Charlie Chaplin and his work. Who doesn’t! But there is something associated with one of his movies which will leave you baffled and mind you, it is not his comedy this time!

This still is from behind the scenes of one of the greatest movie of Sir Chaplin, ‘The Circus’. What we can see is a woman holding something to her ear what looks like a cell phone. So? What is so strange about it? Well, the movie was made in the year 1928 (The first record of using a cell phone is almost 5 decades later in the year 1973!)

Don’t believe it yet? See for yourself here

2. ‘FATAL FUTURE’ IMAGINED

What do you get when you think of mastery, soul stirring music and awesome lyrics at the same time? John Lennon. And What if I tell you we could have saved him from the untimely demise and bless us with more years of his magic?  This could have happened because his death had been predicted long time before we lost him.

Alex Tanous a very famous psychic of his time in an interview at NBC radio show was asked to predict something that might interest music fans.  He did make a prediction, probably the most unfortunate one and said

“The prediction I will make, is that a very famous rock star will have an untimely death in the next few months. I say untimely death because there is something strange about this death, but it will affect the consciousness of many people because of his fame. The star will be foreign-born but living in the United States.’ The cues didn’t stop here, he then wrote down a list of 5 names. JOHN LENNON was the first name on the LIST! After a few months this prediction turned into a heart wrenching reality. All we can do now is put on the earplugs and sob to ‘Imagine’ and, just imagine only if…

Here is a link to help you soothe

3. 9/11 : HINTS DROPPED BEFORE TWINS DROPPED

The Twin Towers attack in The US will always remain a black day for all of us. Even with the best of military force and security so many innocent lives were lost. But a fact not known to many is that the hints for the same were aired 5 months before the attack, only we couldn’t realize it.

An episode of Johnny Bravo, aired on 27th April 2001 had a poster with buildings in flame which resembled the twin towers and ‘COMING SOON’ written on it. 5 months later the tragedy took place. Co-incidence or conspiracy?

Watch this video and figure it out (If you can)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MiGmv6hqPE

4. UNDERGROUND ELLORA WORLD?

UNDERGROUND ELLORA WORLD

We’ve all heard about the mesmerising caves of Ellora. The beauty of such detailed work and beautiful art takes everyone’s breath away. But that’s not where it stops to amaze you. There are tunnels that can be seen all around the caves which lead to the underground area. Unfortunately, the tunnels grow so narrow after a certain distance that it is impossible for a human to reach through (If its impossible to reach there, how is it possible for an earthly being to even make it? Just saying,)

Also, there are ventilation shafts(as shown in the picture) which are estimated to supply the underground area with fresh air (for all the mysterious creatures living underneath)

To leave no trace of second thoughts, all The carvings at Ellora are diverse but have one thing in common. Almost all of them display underground life with cravings of ‘humanoids’ below that of normal humans. So what can possibly be residing down there?

5. SONIC BOOM THAT WASN’T

Sonic boom? It is a sound associated with the shock waves created by an object travelling through the air faster than the speed of sound. So, on 18th December 2012, a highly deafning sound was heard by the residents of Jodhpur. What left everyone puzzled was that no one had an answer to the cause of such a BANG! It was so horrifying that everyone thought of it to be an explosion until the concerned authorities refused of any such explosion in the area. Must be an Air Force drill? But the officers declined that too! So there is still a big question mark as to where did the UNIDENTIFIED FLYING VOICE come from! Any guesses?

Suddenly feels as if we know so little about such a big world of ours, right? These are the top 5 mysteries out of many many that are not even pondered upon. Though all of them have aged but everytime we hear about them they will always leave  a fresh suspicion in our heart and mind.

What AIB Dudes Were Doing Before AIB Was Formed

0

By Gautam Siddharth

The splendid cocktail of awesomeness, the most controversial and bad-ass comedians in the country, the All India Bakchod are unarguably the most realistic humorists of our time. We know much about their humor but little do we know about them before they were AIB.

Tanmay Bhatt

“I started writing for television from the age of 17. Yep, I got my first massive pay cheque the same year I saw my first pair of breasts” writes Tanmay Bhatt, the chubby comic canon ball!

Tanmay had been doing the round in open mics before he got professional. He joined Weirdass Comedy and became Vir Das’s opening act on high sellout “Walking on Broken Das”. He was one of the first four comedians to be featured at The Comedy Store Mumbai’s first all Indian comedian line up titled “Local Heroes”. Soon, Tanmay performed alongside comics from the UK in their “Best In Stand Up” nights, performing 5 times a week. Tanmay is also a member of the awesome Weirdass Comedy – India’s first and only comedy company that writes, performs and directs all comedy content on all formats. He is a member of the Cardinal Bengans, an improv comedy troupe. Tanmay was seen alongside Vir Das, Ashwin Mushran and others on Star World’s first-ever Indian New Year’s Special RIPping the Decade, which he co-wrote.

“My first show was called “Hass Ley India” – UTV BIndass’ flagship show. Since then I’ve written everything from MTV Wassup – Nach Le Ve with Saroj Khan to story screenplay and dialogues of Disney’s daily comedy – Kya Mast Hai Life – NDTV Imagine’s Oye.. It’s Friday! with Farhan Akhtar. I also wrote and produced India’s Got More Talent, a subsidiary comedy show spawned from India’s Got Talent. I’ve also scripted a ton of award shows – which means that I’ve written more obituary links than anybody on the planet. These awards include: Star Parivaar Awards, Balaji Awards, Big TV Awards, Stardust Awards. Also I have written and directed anchor scripts for the prestigious Filmfare Awards – 2 years in a row. That’s right. I’m important-Ish. on some days” – Tanmay Bhatt

Some of his corporate clients include Hindustan Times (Crystal Awards), ICICI, Tatva, Facebook, AT Kearney, Publicis Groupe). He studied journalism from Delhi College of Arts & Commerce (Delhi University).

After graduation, Khamba was all set to move to England for his Master’s degree on a full scholarship. But he contracted Tuberculosis and was bed-ridden for around six months. Sick, bed-and-angst ridden, and heart-broken (apparently he was also going through a bad break-up at that time), he amused himself by watching stand-up comedy on YouTube. He soon started Khamba’s Blog that he claims was mainly to kill time and vent his pent-up frustration. He presented a sharp and quirky take on social and political issues in India. The blog became hugely popular and earned him thousands of followers on Twitter. Rajneesh Kapoor, a popular stand-up comedian in Delhi, stumbled upon his blog one day and found it hilarious. Impressed, he invited Khamba for an open mic night. And that is how his journey began!

10 Writers In Telugu Who Turned Directors

0

By Varun Chinto

For someone who believes film making is team game, the fact that writers are not a respected lot, has been a frustrating realisation. There are many speculations that go around where writers face pressures from stars/fans/producers/directors in order to suit their so called ‘image’. Rarely we see that a writer is respected and his script is taken as it is.

Probably they were frustrated with the space they were given which lead them to take up the job of getting their script as it is on screen. Whatever be the reason, there is a long list of writers in Telugu cinema who turned directors. Here is the list. Have a look!

8 Most Shameful Incidents Happened In The History Of Cricket

0
Incidents Happened Cricket Matches
www.cricbuzz.com

By Shreya Oruganti

Cricket is branded to be a gentleman’s game. Sophisticated, exciting and jaw gripping, cricket has managed to gain millions of fans who are extremely dedicated towards game. But, what happens when one of the most sought after sport ends up having its own set of inglorious drama and controversy?

Here are the 8 most shameful incidents we wish didn’t happen in the history of cricket.

1. THE EDEN GARDEN BREAKOUT – 1967

THE EDEN GARDEN BREAKOUT - 1967

On the eve of New Years, the crowd at Eden Gardens lost their cool, bringing the entire match to a halt. On January 1st 1967, the Indian and the West Indies cricket team faced a crowd whose actions brought the entire match to a standstill. The stadium being extremely jam-packed began getting ill tempered and loud. Soon, the crowd made their way into the ground causing utter chaos. What followed were Lathi charges by the police and counter attacks by the mob. Amongst the entire hullabaloo, Conrad Hunte climbed the terrace, amidst the fire and bloodshed to retrieve the West Indian flag from being burnt. The incident is remembered up to this day, making every cricket fan cringe.

2. THE INFAMOUS UNDERARM BOWLING INCIDENT – 1981

2 (1)

The last few minutes of the one day international cricket match between Australia and New Zealand had turned out to be a grave disappointment to all the cricket lovers out there. It was the last ball and New Zealand required six runs to win against Australia. It was then that the world witnessed Australian captain, Greg Chappell instructing his brother, Trevor to bowl an underarm. Trevor bowled an underarm and Australia won. This was not only considered unfair by many, but it was also considered an unsporting move which did not compliment the tradition and belief of cricket.

3. INDIA – SRI LANKA WORLD CUP CHAOS – 1996

On March 1996, the India – Sri Lanka World Cup witnessed a filthy situation. With Sri Lanka playing brilliantly and India losing seven wickets, the crowd ended up getting extremely enraged. The crowd was seemingly disappointed with the Indian cricketers and began throwing glass bottles at them. The game unfortunately had to be called off. An attempt to restart the match later proved futile and Lloyd awarded the game to Sri Lanka by default.

4. RICKY PONTING AND JAVAGAL SRINATH – 1999

4 (1)

During India’s tour of Australia, there was an awkward one sided faceoff between Ricky Pointing and Javagal Srinath. Srinath being a fast bowler bowled a bouncer at the Australian cricketer who missed the ball, which unfortunately hit him on his helmet. Srinath was apologetic, but the incident rubbed off on the wrong foot with Ricky Pointing and was seen on camera verbally storming at the Indian bowler. The audiences however, weren’t quite impressed with his behaviour.

5. THE HANSIE CRONJE MATCH FIXING EPISODE – 2000

Hansie Cronje on April 7th, 2000, was accused and charged for match fixing with South Africa against India during the ODI’s. Although he initially denied the allegation, Hansie later confessed to being dishonest and receiving $10,000 to $ 15,000 for providing information and forecast, during the one day series in India. On 11 October, Cronje was banned from playing or coaching cricket for life. Sadly, on June 1, 2002, Cronje died when the light cargo plane in which he was travelling in, crashed into the mountains due to the pilot’s negligence.

6. MIKE DENNESS AND THE INDIAN AFFAIR – 2001

India to play 3 T20 series with Sri Lanka

India Sri Lanka

Just when you thought India could not play any more tournaments with Sri Lanka, here’s further bad news!

India is all set to play yet another T20 cricket tournament with Sri Lanka in February. While the schedule seemed to be packed, the short tournament will be played after the Asia Cup, and right before the T20 World Cup, which is also scheduled to be played in India.

India and Sri Lanka have been playing each other continuously over the last few years, and for hardcore Indian cricket fans, an India-Sri Lanka tournament is hardly exciting news. The fact that the tournaments is going to be played in India, where the pitches are flat and most likely to support batsmen and high-scoring matches, the whole tournament looks like it’s going to be a dead rubber!

The matches are scheduled for 9th, 12th, and 14th February, 2016.

Are you excited? Thought so!

This documentary will change your opinion of Mother Teresa

0
Mother Teresa Christopher Hitchens

Mother Teresa has always been known as an inspirational figure in India, and she has also been awarded with a number of awards and recognitions, including the highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna.

However, she has also been mired in controversy for a number of reasons. A number of critics have accused her of urging the poor to remain in their condition, and also for exalting the rich and prosperous as people who have been rewarded by God for their good qualities.

Christopher Hitchens – author, atheist, and journalist – had released a documentary on Mother Teresa in 1994, in which he claimed to question the notion of Mother Teresa being a saint. In his documentary, which is titled Hell’s Angel, Hitchens questions Mother Teresa’s stance on a number of topics.

Since we all grew up idolising Mother Teresa and her work with the poor, we thought this might be an interesting insight, and another angle to the argument. Have a look and decide for yourself!

Telangana govt set to get its own email service

Telangana email

The Telangana government is all set to get its very own email service, after it was reported that the state government has roped in the National Informatics Centre (NIC) to assist it in the project.

It will be a huge shot in the arm for the state, which has already begun making steady progress towards achieving 100% digital penetration in the state. Last month, the Telangana government also launched the T-Hub, an incubation centre and designated space for technology companies.

The move is expected to protect employees of the state government against hacking and other means of cyber threats, which have become a fairly common problem with governments both in the country, as well as abroad.

Internationally, hacking has become a war-tool, with ISIS and Anonymous both being involved in hacking each other’s accounts and social media presence. This change is in lines with instructions given by the NDA government last year on securing email and internet services among government organisations.

Old video of Smriti Irani not knowing Indian states goes viral

Smriti Irani interview

An old video from the show Carry On, Shekhar hosted by Shekar Suman, has gone viral on the internet and social media websites.

In the video, the host Shekar Suman asks Smriti Irani (who had then just joined the Bharatiya Janata Party), about how many states there are in India. Irani’s response is that she ‘wouldn’t know’. Shekarr Suman then goes on to ask Smriti Irani how many states are ruled by BJP, to which she doesn’t know the reply as well!

While it would have been difficult to imagine that a television actress would one day go on to become the Education Minster, it is another embarrassment for the minister, who has been in the news for all the wrong reasons in the recent past.

‘Dharma Sena’ in UP has 15K army to beat ISIS

Dharma Sena

While nations are getting ready to combat the threat of ISIS in many ways, a fringe Hindutva group that goes by the name of Dharma Sena claims to have created a 15000 member strong army ready to face the threat of ISIS.

According to a report in The Times of India, there are three ‘training camps’ in Meerut city, and five more in Muzzafarnagar district. In these camps, the members are taught to defend themselves against the ‘threat’ of Islamic violence.

Some of the members are as young as 10 years old, and they are being indoctrinated into the group early, with the hope of continuing as members throughout their lives. The report also claimed that they want to establish a ‘Hindu State’ as opposed to the ‘Islamic State’, and that is the reason for setting up the Dharma Sena.

Instances of rising religious indoctrination is a cause of worry in India, as there are reports of religious disturbances on a daily basis. We appeal to the authorities to ensure that no untoward incident takes place due to this rising disturbing trend.

Chess is ‘haram’ in Islam, says Saudi cleric

Chess haram

According to the highest religious cleric in Saudi Arabia, the indoor game of Chess is ‘haram’, and thus forbidden from Muslims.

The cleric went on to call the game of chess a waste of time, and one that spreads ‘hatred and enmity’. While the fatwa is not expected to be enforced as a ban on the game altogether, it is bound to raise questions and discussions on the topic.

This is not the first time that the harmless game of chess is coming into controversy. Earlier, the game was banned in Iran during the Islamic Revolution in 1979. However, the ban was repealed a few years later.

Religious leaders in Iraq have also called the game un-Islamic, and have enforced a ban on playing the sport in public, with friends, or even with a computer!!

Rajasthan tourism’s

Rajasthan has long remained one of the most popular tourist spot in India, and it was just a matter of time before the state came up with an innovative marketing strategy, especially with stiff competition from other states like Kerala and Gujarat.

But when Rajasthan’s new ads came up, it got the entire internet raving about it. The campaign also got a new tagline – Jaane Kya Dikh Jaye!

The marketing makeover campaign was headed by the advertising agency Ogilvy and Mather, who earlier came up award winning campaigns such as the Happydent ads that won awards in advertising awards all over the world.

The most amazing part of the campaign was the coining of terms like ‘Huansthan’ and ‘Mayasthan’, going with the tagline – Jaane Kya Dikh Jaye. The ad agency is also being applauded for introducing a brand new logo for Rajasthan tourism. The interesting logo contains two birds and camels. But when you zoom out and look at it from a distance, it resembles a typical Rajasthani man with the trademark Rajasthani moustache.

Here are some of the video! Enjoy!!

Amidst Jaundice Scare, Shimla Bans Street Food For General Public

0

Street food has always been an integral part of Indian culture, and every tourist spot generally has loads of street food along its streets.

However, the Shimla Administration is taking a firm stance against street food as a jaundice scare seems to have taken over the city. Jaundice is generally spread through water and air, and street food is known to be the most common carrier of jaundice. The authorities have issued warnings to the general public about consuming street food that lies exposed to the dirt and dust on streets.

Shimla is home to a range of street food, and this is not the first time that the city is taking up action against street food. A few months back, Shimla launched a campaign against plastic packaging of street food, as the tourist city was witness to rising pollution due to the plastic wrapping.

Shimla is famous for its street food, which includes healthy fruit cut and served with tangy chutneys. There are also legendary stories about how Lord Mountbatten was so impressed by a tea stall in Shimla in the year 1931, that he got a permanent stall built and gave it as a gift to the family.

Shimla remains one of the most popular tourist spots in the country, with millions of tourists swarming to the hill city to enjoy a respite for the heat and hustle bustle of the city.

However, the PR firm also revealed that Narendra Modi was far more interactive with his fans on Facebook, with his interactions amounting to five times more than those of Barack Obama.
