శ్రీకాళహస్తిని దక్షిణ కాశి అని కూడా అంటారు. ఇది దక్షిణ భారతదేశంలోనే ప్రాచీనమైన మరియు పంచభూతలింగములలో నాల్గవదైన వాయులింగం గల గొప్ప శైవక్షేత్రం. ఇక్కడ రెండు దీపాలతో ఒకటి ఎప్పుడు గాలికి రెపరెపలాడుతూ ఉంటుంది. వాయులింగం అనడానికి ఈ దీపం ఒక నిదర్శనం. ఇంకా మరోదీపం ఎల్లప్పుడు నిశ్చలముగా ఉంటుంది.
ఈ క్షేత్రంలోని శివలింగం ఇక్కడ వర్తులాకారంవలె గాక చతురస్రముగా ఉంటుంది. స్థలపురాణం ప్రకారం ఈ ప్రదేశం బ్రహ్మకి జ్ఙానమును ప్రసాదించిన ప్రదేశం అని చెబుతారు. ఈ పవిత్ర స్థలంలో పరమేశ్వరుడిని అత్యంత భక్తితో శ్రీ అంటే సాలెపురుగు, కాళ అంటే పాము, హస్తి అంటే ఏనుగు ఈ మూడు ప్రాణులు పూజించి ముక్తి పొందినవి. అందువలనే ఈ స్థలమునకు శ్రీకాళహస్తి అనే పేరు వచ్చినది.
ఇలా ఎన్నో సంవత్సరాల చరిత్ర కలిగిన ఈ కాళహస్తీశ్వరుని గ్రహణానంతరం దర్శనం చేసుకునే వారికి దారిద్య్రం, దోషాలు తొలిగిపోయి సకల సంపదలు చేకూరుతాయని విశ్వాసం అందుకే దేశంలోని ఆలయాలన్నీ గ్రహణం రోజున మూతపడినా శ్రీకాళహస్తీశ్వరాలయం మాత్రం తెరిచే ఉంటుంది.
అంతేగాకుండా ముక్కంటికి గ్రహణకాలంలోనే గ్రహణ కాలాభిషేకాలు నిర్వహిస్తారు. ఆగమ శాస్త్రం ప్రకారం శ్రీ కాళహస్తిలో ఒక్క శనీశ్వరుని తప్ప నవగ్రహాలను ప్రతిష్టించకూడదు. అందుకు బదులుగా ఈ క్షేత్రంలో రాహుకేతు గ్రహాలు నెలకొని ఉన్నాయి. రాహుకేతు దోషాలను నివారించే దివ్యశైవక్షేత్రం కాళహస్తి కాబట్టి, సూర్య, చంద్రగ్రహణ దోషాలు ముక్కంటిని ఏమాత్రం అంటవని పండితులు చెప్తున్నారు. దీంతో శ్రీకాళహస్తీశ్వరుడు గ్రహణాతీతుడుగా పిలువబడుతున్నాడని వారంటున్నారు.

బోదిధర్మ అసలు పేరు ధర్మ వర్మ. ఆయన ఐదో శతాబ్దంలో తమిళనాడులోని కంచిపురం పాలిస్తున్న రాజు స్కందవర్మ మూడో కుమారుడు సంతానం. బోదిధర్మ నీలి రంగు కళ్లతో ఎంతో అందంగా గంభీరంగా కనిపించేవారు. ఆయన మంచి బుద్ధిశాలి కూడా. అయితే, ఓ రోజు ప్రజ్ఞతార అనే బౌద్ధ సన్యాసి స్కందవర్మ కోటకు వచ్చాడు. ధర్మ వర్మ కోసం అక్కడ ఓ లేఖను వదిలి వెళ్లారు. అందులో ‘‘జననానికి ముందు నీవెవ్వరు? జన్మించిన తర్వాత నీవెవ్వరూ’’ అని రాసి ఉంది. ఆయన అలా ఎందుకు రాశారో ధర్మకు అర్థం కాలేదు. దాని సమాధానం కోసం నిద్రలేని రాత్రులు గడిపారు. దానికి జవాబు తెలుసుకోడానికి ప్రజ్ఞతార ఆశ్రమానికి వెళ్లారు.
ప్రజ్ఞతారను కలిసినా బోదిధర్మకు సమాధానం లభించలేదు. నీకు నువ్వుగానే దీనికి సమాధానం వెతుక్కోవాలని ప్రజ్ఞతార చెప్పారు. ‘‘బంధాలకు, సుఖాలకు, అధికారాలకు లోనై ఉన్నంత కాలం ఈ ప్రశ్నకు సమాధానం లభించదు. ఇందుకు నీవు ఆధ్యాత్మిక మార్గాన్ని ఎంచుకోవాలని ప్రజ్ఞతార చెప్పారు. దీంతో ధర్మ.. తన రాజ్యాన్ని వదిలి ఆశ్రమంలోనే ఉంటానని చెప్పాడు. బౌద్ధ సన్యాసాన్ని స్వీకరించి ప్రజ్ఞతార వద్ద శిష్యరికానికి చేరాడు. గురువు ధర్మ వర్మ పేరును బోది ధర్మగా మార్చారు.
బొదిధర్మలో మానసిక స్థైర్యం ఉన్నా.. శారీరక శక్తి చాలా తక్కువగా ఉందని గురువు గమనించారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా కొన్నాళ్లు యుద్ధ విద్యలు నేర్చుకోవాలని సూచించారు. దీంతో బోదిధర్మ దేశమంతా తిరిగి యోగాతోపాటు పలు మర్మవిద్యలు నేర్చుకున్నారు. నాలుగేళ్ల తర్వాత శారీరక, మానసిక దృఢత్వంతో తిరిగి ఆశ్రమానికి చేరిన బోదిధర్మకు గురువు అసలు రహస్యాన్ని తెలిపారు. ‘‘నువ్వు సాధారణ సన్యాసివి కావు. నీ పుట్టకకు ఓ కారణం ఉంది. నువ్వు మరో బుద్ధుడిగా బౌద్ధమతాన్ని, దాని ఉద్దేశాలను విశ్వవ్యాప్తం చేయాలి’’ అని గురువు పేర్కొన్నారు.
చైనాలో 1వ శతాబద్దం నుంచే బౌద్ధ మతం వ్యాపించి ఉంది. అయితే, అక్కడి ప్రజలు పూర్తిగా బౌద్ధ ధర్మాలను పాటించకుండా బుద్ధి హీనులుగా మారడాన్ని గురువు ప్రజ్ఞతారను కలిచివేసింది. అక్కడ బౌద్ధ ధర్మాన్ని రక్షించేందుకు రెండో బుద్ధుడిగా వెళ్లాలని బోదిధర్మను ఆదేశించారు. అక్కడ అడుగు పెట్టడానికి ముందు.. బౌద్ధ గ్రంథాలు, చైనా భాషా.. సాంప్రదాయాల మీద అవగాహన తెచ్చుకోవాలని పేర్కొన్నారు.
గురువు ఆదేశాల మేరకు బోదిధర్మ తనకు 40 ఏళ్ల పాటు కఠోరంగా శ్రమించి బౌద్ధ గ్రంథాలపై పట్టు సాధించారు. 67 ఏళ్ల వయస్సులో సముద్ర మార్గంలో చైనాకు బయల్దేరారు. లియాంగ్ అనే రాజ్యానికి చేరుకున్న బోదిధర్మకు అక్కడి రాజు అయిన ‘వు’ ఆహ్వానం పలికారు. బోదిధర్మ చైనాలో అడుగు పెట్టడానికి కారణం తెలుసుకుని రాజు కొన్ని వ్యక్తిగత సందేహాలను తీర్చుకోవాలని భావించాడు. తాను ఎన్నో దానధర్మాలు చేస్తానని, బౌద్ధ సన్యాసులను పోషిస్తున్నానని తెలుపుతాడు. ఇన్ని పుణ్యాలు చేస్తున్నందుకు తాను స్వర్గానికి వెళ్తానా లేదా నరకానికి వెళ్తానా? అని అడిగాడు.
రాజు అడిగిన ప్రశ్నకు బోదిధర్మ సమాధానం చెబుతూ.. ‘‘నువ్వు తప్పకుండా నరకానికే వెళ్తావు. నీవు ధనం ద్వారా పుణ్యాన్ని కొంటున్నావు. అంటే, మనసుతో దానం చేయడం లేదు. స్వర్గానికి వెళ్లాలనే స్వార్థంతో నీకు పుణ్యాత్ముడిగా భావిస్తున్నావు. ఇలాంటివారు తప్పకుండా నరకానికే పోతారు’’ అని బోదిధర్మ తెలిపారు. అంతే, ఆ సమాధానం వినగానే రాజుకు కోపం వచ్చింది. వెంటనే అతన్ని కోట వదిలి వెళ్లాలని రాజు ఆదేశిస్తాడు. దీంతో బోది ధర్మ అక్కడి నుంచి ఉత్తర చైనాను చేరారు.
బోదిధర్మను అక్కడి ప్రజలు బౌద్ధ గురువుగా కాకుండా భారతీయుడిగానే చూసేవారు. భారతీయులు ఆహారాన్ని చాప్ స్టిక్స్తో కాకుండా చేతులతో తింటారని, మలాన్ని కూడా చేతులతోనే శుభ్రం చేసుకుంటారని, పరిశుభ్రంగా ఉండరంటూ ఎవరూ బోదిధర్మకు ఆశ్రయం కల్పించేవారు కాదు. దీంతో ఆయన షావోలిన్ అనే ప్రాంతంలోని ఓ గుహలో ధ్యానం చేయడం మొదలు పెట్టారు. అలా తొమ్మిదేళ్లపాటు ఎవరితో మాట్లాడకుండా బోదిధర్మ పూర్తిగా ద్యానంలోనే ఉన్నారు. ఈ విషయం తెలిసి దాజూ ల్యూక్ అనే సన్యాసి శిష్యుడిగా చేరేందుకు ఆసక్తి చూపించాడు.
కఠోర ధ్యానంలో ఉన్న బోది ధర్మ ల్యూక్ విన్నపాన్ని పట్టించుకోరు. దీంతో ల్యూక్ ఆయనతోనే గడుపుతాడు. అక్కడి వాతావరణం మైనస్ డిగ్రీలకు పడిపోయినా సరే బోది ధర్మ వద్దే కుర్చొని ఎదురుచూసేవాడు. చివరికి ఓ రోజు తన కత్తితో చేతిని నరికేసుకుంటాడు. ఆ రక్తం బోదిధర్మపై పడుతుంది. దీంతో బోదిధర్మ కళ్లు తెరిచి చూస్తారు. అనంతరం ల్యూక్ను తన శిష్యుడిగా చేర్చుకుంటారు. అతడి పేరును షెన్ గ్యాంగ్గా మారుస్తాడు.
తొమ్మిదేళ్లు ధ్యానంలోనే ఉన్న బోదిధర్మను ప్రజలు బుద్ధుడి మరో అవతారంగా భావిస్తారు. ఈ విషయం చైనా మొత్తం పాకుతుంది. అక్కడి నుంచి జపాన్, కోరియా తదితర దేశాలకు కూడా బోదిధర్మ బోధనలు విస్తరించాయి. దీంతో ఆయనకు ఆసియాలోని ఇండియా మినహా అన్ని దేశాల నుంచి శిష్యరికానికి చేరారు. వీరికి బోధి ధర్మ.. తాను భారత దేశంలో నేర్చుకున్న యోగా తదితర మర్మ కళలను మేళవించి కుంగ్ఫూను నేర్పించారు.
చైనాకు కుంగ్ఫూను నేర్పించినది బోదిధర్మ అనే ప్రచారం ఉంది. కానీ, అది అవాస్తవం. బోదిధర్మ నేర్పించిన విద్యను షావోలిన్ కుంగ్ఫూ అంటారు. ఇది కుంగ్ఫూ కంటే మెరుగైనది, కష్టమైనది కూడా. భారతీయు యుద్ధ కళలను మేళవించి ఈ కుంగ్ఫూ రూపొందించారు. ఈ విద్య చైనా ప్రజలకు ఎంతో ఉపయోగపడింది. ఆత్మరక్షణకు పనికొచ్చింది. అంతేగాక బోదిధర్మ ఆయుర్వేద వైద్యం ప్రజలకు ఎంతో ఉపయోగపడింది. బౌద్ధ ధర్మ బోధనలు చేస్తూ బోదిధర్మ చైనా ప్రజలకు దైవంగా మారారు. 28వ బౌద్ధ ఆచార్యుడిగా గుర్తింపు పొందారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా భారత దేశంలో నేర్చుకున్న మహాయాన సూత్రాలను బౌద్ధ ధర్మలతో మేళవించి ‘చాన్ బుద్ధిజం’ను సృష్టించారు. చైనాలో బోదిధర్మను దాము అని, జపానులో ధర్మ అని పిలిచేవారు. బోదిధర్మ తర్వాత ఆయన శిష్యుడు షేన్ గ్యాంగ్ 29వ బౌద్ధ ఆచార్యుడిగా బాధ్యతలు స్వీకరించారు.
గురువుకు ఇచ్చిన మాట ప్రకారం.. చైనాలో బౌద్ధ ధర్మాన్ని వ్యాప్తిచేసిన బోదిధర్మ ఇండియాకు తిరిగి వెళ్లాలని నిర్ణయించుకున్నారు. ఇదే విషయాన్ని తన శిష్యులకు తెలిపి.. ఇక షేన్ గ్యాంగ్ను గురువుగా స్వీకరించాలని ఆదేశించారు. అయితే, బోదిధర్మ తమని విడిచి వెళ్లకూడదనే ఉద్దేశంతో ఓ శిష్యుడు ఆహారంలో విషం కలిపి బోదిధర్మను చంపేశాడని, బోదిధర్మ బౌతిక కాయాన్ని ఓ పర్వతం ప్రాంతంలో సమాధి చేశారని చెబుతారు. అయితే చైనా ప్రజలు బోదిధర్మ చనిపోయారంటే నమ్మరు. ఇందుకు మరో కథ ప్రచారంలో ఉంది. బోదిధర్మ చనిపోయాడని భావిస్తున్న రోజుల్లో ఓ సైనికుడికి చైనా సరిహద్దుల్లో బోదిధర్మ ఒక బూటును చేతితో పట్టుకుని నడుస్తూ కనిపిస్తారు.
ఈ సందర్భంగా సైనికుడు మీరు ఎక్కడికి వెళ్తున్నారని ప్రశ్నిస్తే.. నా స్వదేశానికి తిరిగి వెళ్తున్నా అని చెబుతారు. త్వరలో మీ రాజు చనిపోతారని, తాను బతికే ఉన్నానని చెబితే నువ్వు కష్టాల్లో పడతావని హెచ్చరించి అక్కడికి నుంచి వెళ్లిపోతారు. అయితే, ఆ సైనికుడు బోది ధర్మ బతికే ఉన్నాడని, తాను చూశానని రాజుకు చెబుతాడు. అసత్యం చెబుతున్నావంటూ రాజు అతన్ని జైల్లో బంధిస్తాడు.. తరవాత బోది ధర్మ సమాధిని తవ్వి చూడగా అక్కడ కేవలం ఒక బూటు మాత్రమే లభ్యమవుతుంది. దీంతో రాజు, బోది ధర్మ బతికే ఉన్నాడని భావిస్తాడు. కొద్ది రోజలు తర్వాత రాజు కూడా చనిపోతాడు.
అప్పటి నుంచి చైనా ప్రజలు బోదిధర్మకు మరణం లేదని, ఆయన బతికే ఉండి ఉంటారని నమ్ముతున్నారు. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో బోదిధర్మ నిజంగా బతికే ఉన్నారా? లేదా చనిపోయారా అనేది ఇప్పటికీ మిస్టరీగానే ఉంది.

మనిషి మరణానంతరం జరిగే పరిణామాల గురించి హిందూ శాస్త్రం ప్రకారం గరుడ పురాణంలో వివరించబడింది. మరికొద్ది సెకన్లలో చనిపోతాడనగా మనిషికి సృష్టి అంతా కనిపిస్తుందట. తనకు ఆ సమయంలో దివ్య దృష్టి లాంటిది వస్తుందట. దీంతో అతను ప్రపంచాన్నంతటినీ అర్థం చేసుకుంటాడట. కానీ ఆ క్షణంలో ఏమీ మాట్లాడలేడట. అయితే ఆ సమయంలోనే మనిషి యమదూతలను చూస్తాడట. వారు అత్యంత వికారంగా, నల్లగా, తల అనేది ఒక సరైన ఆకారం లేకుండా ఆయుధాల వంటి పెద్ద పెద్ద గోళ్లతో అత్యంత భయంకరంగా వారు కనిపిస్తారట. దీంతో మనిషికి నోటి నుంచి ఉమ్మి వస్తూ దుస్తుల్లోనే మూత్ర లేదా మల విసర్జన చేస్తాడట. అనంతరం అన్ని స్పృహలను కోల్పోయి చివరికి ప్రాణం పోతుందట. దీంతో ఆ ప్రాణాన్ని అంటే ఆత్మను యమదూతలు నరకానికి తీసుకువెళ్తారట.
అలా యమదూతలు ఆత్మలను నరకానికి తీసుకువెళ్లేందుకు దాదాపు 47 రోజుల సమయం పడుతుందట. ఈ క్రమంలో దారిలో ఆత్మలను యమదూతలు అనేక చిత్రహింసలు పెడతారట. తమను చూసి భయపడినా, ఎక్కడైనా ఆగినా ఆత్మలను కొరడాల వంటి ఆయుధాలతో చితక్కొడుతూ యమదూతలు తీసుకెళ్తారట. దీంతోపాటు నరకంలో విధించే శిక్షలను గురించి యమదూతలు ఆత్మలకు కథలు కథలుగా చెబుతారట. దీంతో ఆత్మలు ఏడుస్తాయట. తమను అక్కడికి తీసుకువెళ్లవద్దని ప్రార్థిస్తాయట. అయినా యమదూతలు కనికరించరు సరి కదా, ఇంకాస్త కఠినంగా ప్రవర్తిస్తూ ఆత్మలను యమధర్మ రాజు ముందు ప్రవేశపెడతారట.
నరకంలో యమధర్మరాజు మనుషుల ఆత్మలకు వారు చేసిన పాప, పుణ్యాల ప్రకారం శిక్షలు వేస్తాడట. చిన్న చిన్న తప్పులు చేసి పశ్చాత్తాప పడుతూ దైవాన్ని ప్రార్థిస్తే వాటిని పాపాల కింద యమధర్మ రాజు చూడడట. కానీ దొంగతనం, హత్య వంటి నేరాలకు మాత్రం తప్పనిసరిగా శిక్ష పడే తీరుతుందట. అబద్దాన్ని కూడా పాపం గానే పరిగణిస్తారట. అయితే పాప, పుణ్యాలను లెక్కించడానికి ముందు యముడు ఆత్మలను మరోసారి భూలోకానికి వారి బంధువుల వద్దకు పంపిస్తాడట.
ఈ క్రమంలో ఆత్మకు చెందిన వారు హిందూ ధర్మ శాస్త్రం ప్రకారం కర్మకాండలు, పిండ ప్రదానాలు అన్నీ చేయాల్సి ఉంటుందట. ఇవన్నీ మనిషి చనిపోయిన 10 రోజుల్లో పూర్తి చేయాలట. లేదంటే యమలోకం నుంచి వచ్చిన ఆత్మ అక్కడే చెట్లపై తిరుగుతుందట. ఇదంతా వినడానికి ఆశ్చర్యంగా ఉన్నపటికీ గరుడ పురాణంలో దీన్ని గురించి చెప్పారు..

2) The movie’s filming was done in Madumalai forest. Adavi Ramudu was the first film for which NTR had given dates for more than a month (35 days) out of Madras.

Junior artistes were practicing a Dappu scene right then, and the elephants got panicked by the noise and threw down both the lead ladies with their trunks. Luckily, they escaped with minor injuries. Another one was a chase scene where Jayasudha and Jayaprada were chased by villains while they were trying to escape on a horse cart. The cart’s axle broke and both of them were injured and were forced to rest for a couple of days.

Let’s first talk about the graphics of the game. Regardless of your thoughts about the story or the gameplay, there is no doubt that Last Of Us Part 2 is the single most beautiful looking game of the generation. Naughty Dog have outdone themselves and created some of the best visuals ever seen in a Video game. Everything from the character animations, environments, to the grass is a league above other games. The characters move so fluidly, and each animation feels so realistic that when you engage in a fight, the movements almost look scripted. In many ways, The Last of Us part 2 delivers a next-gen experience, which many thought would be impossible to achieve on a seven-year-old machine. What sets Last of Us part 2 apart from many other games is the lighting engine of the game. The lighting is done so beautifully that it enhances the visual quality of environments. Also, the attention to detail in the game is insane, There are thousands of tiny details that you’ll easily miss in your playthrough, but these details are what that makes the game much more immersive and impressive. I’d also like to point out the fact that the game runs phenomenally well on both Ps4 and Ps4 Pro. It’s amazing that Naughty Dog is able to push the PlayStation to its limit, without compromising on the performance. Whether you decide to play The Last of Us Part 2 on the base console or the pro version, you still get a beautiful stunning game, that will blow your mind. Both the consoles have consistent framerates throughout, and very rarely do you see frame drops. The Last of Us Part 2 is so stunning, that there were several moments throughout the game, that I had to stop what I was doing, just to take everything in. Take the introduction scene for example, where you play as Joel. As you ride back to Jackson at the beginning of the game, you come across lavish fields, and take a look at Jackson out from far, as the sunlight shines on you, the game looks so incredibly pretty, that instead of following Tommy and going to Jackson, I took my own sweet time to just stop at stare at the game. The Character models and cutscenes are very well done too, I don’t think I have seen a game where the characters look this realistic, and all these factors make the game so much more immersive, and make you feel as if though you’re a part of this universe.
So the game is undoubtedly pretty, but how does it play? While the first game was awesome, it did have somewhat of clunky controls, and after completing The Last Of Us Part 2, I went back to revisit the first game, and it took me by surprise, compared to the sequel, The controls of the first game just felt bad. This is in no means undermining the game, the first game is still fantastic and controls well, but when you compare it to Naughty Dog’s latest instalment, there’s a clear difference, and that just shows how good the gameplay of The Last of Us Part 2 really is. The way that Ellie controls is a breath of fresh air, she’s much more agile and quicker than Joel, this makes for exciting hand-to-hand combats, and several scenarios where you can attack the enemy and then use your agility to run away from them, and repeat the process. One thing that I absolutely loved about the game is the fistfights. I think Naughty Dog has mastered the art of close combat in their games, and that is evident in The Last of Us Part 2, every encounter feels personal, and you feel as if though you were a part of the fight. Every punch, every dodge feels so satisfying to execute that if the game just had hand-to-hand combat, I wouldn’t mind at all. On several instances, I actually avoided using guns, because the close encounters were so much more fun and satisfying to pull off. But the game has a lot more things up its sleeve. Yeah, Ellie is faster and more agile now, but her enemies are smarter and more vicious. One of the most important things about the game, and one that the developers stressed on was that every enemy on the game now has a name, and enemies react differently and get much more aggressive when you kill their companions, and I am happy to say that, Naughty Dog does manage to pull this off. Every character has a name, and as you hide in the bushes or behind cover, you can hear them talking to each other about the things they’ll do once they get back to camp. Some have families to get back to, and some want to take a vacation. This makes the game much more personal and almost makes you feel bad for killing your enemies. I don’t think any game has come close to what Naughty Dog has managed to accomplish. And due to this, each kill feels real, whether you sneaking up behind an enemy and stabbing their necks with a shiv, as you see blood spitting out of them, or you dismember the heads of your enemy with a headshot. Each kill takes somewhat of an emotional toll on you, and I have never experienced this feeling in any other game. There were several instances where I was surrounded by several enemies, and my heart was pounding, but finding a way to kill them all off was incredibly satisfying. Stealth is your best option, and I’ve had the most fun while playing the game this way.
Sound and Music are pretty important for any game, and though I am not some music expert or audiophile, I think the music of this game is absolutely phenomenal. Gustavo Santaolalla returns as the lead composer for the sequel, and knocks it out of the park and delivers a background score that is both tense and adds up to the tension of the gameplay. The sound is fantastic too, every gunshot feels authentic and powerful, and the environmental noises add to the immersion of the game. Casting once again sets up new standards for voice acting in games. Troy Baker and Ashely Johnson bring so much emotion to the scenes, that it is hard not to appreciate their work. The supporting cast too is phenomenal, and the voice actors do a good job of getting emotions out of the characters. The game also features a full-blown guitar system, where you can play covers of all your favourite songs. If you are talented that is. I found myself loving the music of this game, more so than any other game I have played, The music plays an important role in the story too, and makes for some emotional moments, that only get better, thanks to the brilliant music selection. Songs like ‘Take on Me’, and ‘Future Days’ have become some of my most favourite songs ever, and I cannot stop myself from tearing up a little, every time I hear them. This is what great music does, it brings feelings and emotions out of you, and in that department, the music of The Last of Us part 2 is simply a foot above anything else we have seen in recent times.
So, we finally come to the main reason why this game is so polarizing and divisive. The story of the game takes several bold decisions, that have divided the fan base into two, with many hating the game with a burning desire due to these decisions, and this was to be expected. When you make a sequel to a game as beloved as The Last of Us, few choices are going to piss off fans, and pissed off fans are never a good thing. The situation got so bad, that the game was review bombed on Metacritic, bringing the user rating down to 3.4 out of 10, which is devastating for any game. And though the rating has since gone up to 5, there are still several people that are hating on the game.
The backlash against the death of Joel was severe and huge, and the fact that the major story spoilers were leaked before the launch of the game didn’t help the matter either. When you decide to kill one of the most beloved characters in the history of gaming, there is going to be a major backlash, and I think that Naughty Dog knew of this, and still decided to take this bold step, and I appreciate their decision because, in my mind, the death is justifiable. Not only in a moral sense, but also for the narration of the game. How do you make a sequel to a game, that seems to have a perfect ending? The story should be justifiable, and Joel’s death justifies the sequel and gives the story meaning. I don’t think anyone would have cared much about the story If it was Dina, who was killed. This is because, she is a new character, in which we have not invested our time in. There would be no emotional connection between what we feel and what Ellie feels. To create this emotional connect, and to give the story a meaning to exist, Joel had to die, as much as I hated seeing him die. His death was the only thing that could justify this sequel being made.
If the fans were not already pissed by Joel’s death, what’s a sure way to piss them off even further? Make them play as the person who killed Joel. Bravo Naughty Dog, you seem to have pissed everybody off. I have to admit, that I was pretty annoyed at the switch too, I did not want to play as this buffed up psychopath who just killed Joel. I wanted to kill her, not kill others using her. I was angry, irritated and annoyed at this decision, and you are supposed to feel that way. Naughty Dog wanted you to feel disdain for the character, they wanted you to hate her, and feel what Ellie is feeling. And to force players to play as her might be the boldest decision since Metal Gear Solid 2, where you play as Raiden, but Raiden did not kill one of the most beloved characters, fans were still pissed, and the game got a lot of backlash due to this. Fans do not want to play as other characters, especially the ones that kill our favourite characters, but as they say, there are always 2 sides to every story, and to understand Abby’s side of the story, it is important that you play as her. Though the switch pissed me off, Abby’s character slowly grew on me, and as we went through her story, and found out her reason for killing Joel, I understood her. In the world of Last of Us, there are no heroes. While Joel might appear as a hero in the first game, by rescuing Ellie from the hospital, if you really think about it, or see the act from Abby’s perspective, this is what you see; You finally have the cure to save Humanity, and your father is going to make a Vaccine that might stop the Apocalypse, and you’ll finally be able to go back to living a normal life. Here comes this guy, who shoots your father, massacres your clan, and leaves with the only hope that the world has at making a vaccine. I think that would devastate anyone too, and even if you don’t agree with the decision of killing Joel, you are at least able to understand the reasoning behind it. The longer you played with Abby, the more you understand her side of the story, and start feeling for her. Everything that she ever believed was taken from her, from a man that she did not even know. That justifies her quest for revenge, She is so consumed by revenge, that she builds her body up like a tank, in hopes of someday exacting her revenge. And when she finally does get her revenge, what does she feel? Not satisfied. Not only does she not feel satisfied, but she also loses her friends, and feels extremely guilty for what she did, and despises the person she has become.
The final act of the story sees Ellie moving on with her life with Dina and her baby, JJ. They live together in this beautiful farmhouse, that Dina had previously dreamed of having. They seem to be living a perfect life, but Ellie is unable to shake off the visions of Joel and suffers from PTSD. Enters Tommy, who shows up with rumours about Abby, and is still not able to move on with his life. This is where you can see that the thought of revenge has completely taken over Tommy, and destroyed him, he loses everything on his quest for revenge and is not able to move on with his life. Ellie is hesitant about going after Abby but ends up leaving anyway. The scene that shows Ellie leaving is extremely powerful and is a decision that you might not have wanted Ellie to take. She is living a perfect life, has everything that she could want, but the idea of revenge occupies her mind, and she is not able to live with the fact that Joel is no more. I, at this point, did not want Ellie to go after Abby, I’ve had enough of the violence, and watching Ellie leave behind Dina was heartbreaking. I was also scared that Ellie might die at the hands of Abby. We find out that Abby and Lev have been captured by some rattlers, and are on the verge of death. We make our way across the rattlers, only to find Abby crucified, tortured, and left with no energy what so ever. Ellie decides to cut Abby down, who at this point of the game is a former shell of herself. Abby cuts lev free and decides to leave the island. Ellie still not able to forgive Abby for what she has done, forces Abby to fight her, by threatening to kill Lev. As the battle comes to the end, Ellie overpowers Abby, and attempts on drowning her, as Abby is about to drown, Ellie spares her and lets her go.
The Last Of Us Part 2 was an emotional game for me, that took me on one hell of a journey full of tragic events, and moments that made me feel a little reluctant and uneasy. The fact that the game is so divisive makes the game much more unique and better in my opinion. Naughty Dog took some really bold decisions when it came to the story, and I for one enjoyed those decisions, and never did I think that I would play a game so personal, or would end up loving a character that I despised at the start of a game. The character development of Abby was one of the best things about the game, and this is where the game either makes or breaks for people playing it. If you are able to understand the character of Abby, then you are going to love the game and the choices it makes. But if you keep the death of Joel in your head, and refuse to let go the idea of revenge, then you are not going to enjoy this game. I think that the quote ‘There are no heroes in the world of Last of Us’ perfectly describes this game for me. It’s all about perspective, and the way you interpret the story is what makes all the difference. Yes Joel was a beloved character, and yes his death was painful, but the game needed his death, and I don’t think, Naughty Dog could’ve come up with a better story to justify the sequel. The Last of Us Part 2 is different from its predecessor, and is much more divisive and makes a lot of questionable and bold decisions, and these decisions are what make the game so appealing and unique to me. The same reason might lead you to hate the game, and that is completely fine. Art is meant to evoke feelings out of you, and just like every other good piece of art, it is polarizing. This is what makes The Last of Us Part 2 a masterpiece in my eyes. Naughty Dog have really outdone themselves and created a game that is so powerful and emotional that the story will stay with you long after the credits roll. The Ps4 has seen many great games during its life cycle, but I think that The Last of Us Part 2 will be forever remembered as a Masterpiece that did not shy away from doing things differently.

I wanted to do the casting with unestablished and failed actors/technicians and wanted to show the world that I can do it!! At that time I have seen Hum Aapke Hain Koun (HAHK) and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ). Then I decided that I should go that way. Then I called Nag up from Vizag and told him that the original story line was shelved and I had a different subject in my mind. I came back to Hyderabad and went to Ramudochadu shooting and narrated the story line of Ninne Pelladata for three minutes.

దేవాలయాలకు వెళ్లినప్పుడు భక్తులు ఎలా ప్రార్థించాలో, ఫలితం ఎలా రాబట్టుకోవాలో అనే దానిపై నారద పురాణంలో వివరించారు. సాధారణంగా చాలా మందికి దేవాలయాలకు వెళ్లడం ఇష్టం ఉండదు. తల్లిదండ్రులు లేదా పెద్దల బలవంతం మీదనో, మరే ఇతర కారణాల వల్లో దేవాలయాలకు వెళ్తారు. అయిష్టంగానే పూజలు చేస్తారు. దేవుళ్లకు మొక్కుతారు. కానీ అసలు అలా మొక్కకూడదట. అలా మొక్కితే ఫలితం ఏమీ ఉండదట. పూర్తిగా మనస్సులో ఇష్ట ప్రకారం మాత్రమే భగవంతున్ని ప్రార్థిస్తేనే సరైన ఫలితం ఉంటుందట.
దేవుడికి మొక్కకపోతే మనకు ఏదో కీడు జరుగుతుంది, లేదంటే మనకు అస్సలు మంచి జరగదు… లాంటి భావనలతో, భయంతో దేవున్ని మొక్కకూడదట. అలా మొక్కినా ప్రయోజనం ఉండదట. మనస్సులో ఎలాంటి భయం లేకుండా భగవంతున్ని ప్రార్థించాలట.కొందరు తమకు తెలిసిన లేదంటే పుస్తకాలు చదివి లేదా ఇతరులు చెప్పిన మంత్రాలతో దేవున్ని ప్రార్థిస్తారు. అయితే అవి నిజంగా సరైన మంత్రాలే అయితే వాటిని ఉచ్ఛరించి దేవున్ని ప్రార్థించవచ్చట. కానీ తెలిసీ తెలియని మంత్రాలతో మాత్రం దేవున్ని ప్రార్థించకూడదట. పూజలు చేయవద్దట. అంతకన్నా సింపుల్గా దేవుడికి దండం పెట్టుకుని ప్రార్థిస్తే చాలట. దాంతో భక్తులు అనుకున్నవి జరిగేందుకు అవకాశం ఉంటుందట.
భక్తులు ఎవరైనా తమ వ్యక్తిగత స్వార్థం కోసం పూజలు చేయకూడదట. భగవంతున్ని ప్రార్థించకూడదట. స్వార్థంతో దేవున్ని పూజించినా దాని వల్ల ఎలాంటి ఫలితం కలగదట. నిర్మలమైన మనస్సుతో, మనస్సులో ఎలాంటి స్వార్థం, దురాశ లేకుండా దేవున్ని ప్రార్థించాలట. అలాంటి నిస్వార్ధ పూరిత ప్రార్ధనలు మాత్రమే దేవుడు స్వీకరిస్తాడట.. అట్టి వారి కోరికల్ని కూడా తప్పక తీరుస్తాడట..
మనిషి ఎల్లపుడూ సంతోషంగా ఉండాలంటే ఖచ్చితంగా నాలుగు విషయాలని వదిలేయాల్సిందే అని చెప్తున్నారు పండితులు.. వాటిలో మొదటగా వదిలేయాల్సినది.. ఎవరికి వారు సొంత డబ్బా కొట్టుకోవడం..చాలా మందికి ఎవరి గొప్పలు వారే స్వయంగా చెప్పుకోవడం, తమను తామే పొగుడుకోవడం అలవాటు. కానీ దీన్ని అస్సలు పాటించకూడదట. అలా పాటిస్తే జీవితంలో ఏదో ఒక రోజు పెద్ద ఎదురు దెబ్బ తింటారట. కొన్ని సందర్భాల్లో పతనమై పోతారట కూడా. కనుక ఎవరికి వారు సొంత డబ్బా కొట్టుకోకూడదు.
ఇక రెండవది..ఎదుటి వారి తప్పులను ఎంచడం..కొందరు ఎల్లప్పుడూ తమ తప్పులను కాకుండా ఎదుటి వారి తప్పులను వెతికి పట్టుకోవడమే పనిగా పెట్టుకుంటారు. అలాంటి వారు కూడా జీవితంలో పైకి రాలేరట. సంతోషకరమైన జీవితం గడపలేరట. తమ తప్పులను మాత్రమే తెలుసుకుని ముందుకు సాగే వారే సంతోషకరంగా ఉంటారట.
ఇక మూడవది మత గ్రంథాలను తక్కువగా చూడడం…చాలా మంది తెలిసీ తెలియని జ్ఞానంతో మత గ్రంథాలను తక్కువ చేసి చూస్తుంటారు. వాటిని కించ పరుస్తుంటారు. కానీ అలా చేయకూడదట. అది వారికి సంతోషాన్ని ఇవ్వదట. ఎందుకంటే అలాంటి మతపరమైన గ్రంధాలలో మనిషి జీవన గమనానికి, సమస్యల్ని ఎదుర్కొని నిలబడే ధైర్యం పెంపొందించే ఎన్నో సూత్రాలు చెప్పబడతాయంట.. ఇక నాల్గవది.. నాస్తికులుగా ఉండడం…నాస్తికులంటే కేవలం దైవం విషయంలో మాత్రమే కాదు, శాస్త్ర విజ్ఞాన విషయంలో కూడా. అలాంటి జ్ఞానాలను నమ్మకుండా ఉండే వారు జీవితంలో ఆనందంగా ఉండలేరట.
ఈ నాల్గింటిని వదిలేస్తే ప్రతి మనిషి తన జీవితంలో సంతోషంగా ఉండగలుగుతారట..
చాల మందికి చనిపోయిన వారు కలలో వస్తూ ఉంటారు.. ఇలా చనిపోయిన వారు కలలో వస్తే దాని అర్దం వారిని మీరు మర్చిపోలేకపోతున్నారని, వారి మరణాన్ని మీరు జీర్ణించుకోలేకపోతున్నారని అర్ధం.. మీకు మీరే చనిపోయినట్టు కలలో వస్తే మీలో పాజిటిట్ థింకింగ్ కి అది సంకేతం. కొంతమందికి కలలో వారు నగ్నంగా ఉన్నట్లు వస్తుంటాయి.. ఇలా మీరు నగ్నంగా ఉన్నట్టు కలలో వచ్చిందా మీ ఆత్మగౌరవం తగ్గుతుందనడానికి అది సూచన.. అది మీలో అంతర్గత భయాన్ని సూచిస్తుంది. దేని గురించో మీరు బాగా ఆలోచిస్తూ, దాని గురించి భయపడుతున్నట్టు సంకేతం..
అలాగే చాలామందికి పాములు కలలో వస్తుంటాయి.. ఇలా పాములు మీ కలలో వస్తున్నాయా.. అయితే పాములను నిజంగా చూడడానికి కలలో చూడడానికి చాలా తేడా ఉంది. నెగటివ్ ఆలోచనలు మిమ్మల్ని ప్రొటెక్ట్ చేస్తాయని అర్దం. మరి కొంతమందికి భాగస్వామి వదిలేసినట్లు, వారికీ వేరే వారితో వివాహం అయినట్లు కళలు వస్తుంటాయి.. ఇలా మీ భాగస్వామి మిమ్మల్ని వదిలేసినట్టుగా లేదా మీకు దూరంగా పోయినట్టుగా కలలొస్తే మీ రిలేషన్ షిప్ లో ఇన్ సెక్యూర్గా ఉన్నారని, లేదా వాళ్లతో హ్యాపీ గా లేరని అర్దం. అవసరమైతే వాళ్లని వేరొకరి కి త్యాగం చేయడానికి సిద్దంగా ఉన్నారని అర్దం.

పాండవుల గురువైన ద్రోణాచార్యుడు ఈ ప్రదేశంలోని కొండ పై తపస్సు చేశాడు కనుకనే ద్రోణగిరి అన్న పేరొచ్చిందని స్థానికులు చెబుతారు. పాండవులు వనవాస సమయంలో కొద్దీ రోజుల పాటు ఇక్కడ గడిపినట్లు మహాభారతంలో పేర్కొన్నారు. దున గిరి దేవి ని మహామయ హరిప్రియ గా అభివర్ణిస్తారు. ఈ శక్తి పీఠానికి గల మరో పేరు ‘ఉగ్ర పీఠ’.
ఈ ద్రోణగిరి లో ప్రజలు ఆంజనేయ స్వామి ని పూజించరు సరి కదా.. ద్వేషిస్తారు. అంత పాపం ఈ ఊరికి ఆంజనేయస్వామి ఏమి చేసాడు అంటే.. పూర్వము రామాయణ కాలంలో అంటే త్రేతాయుగం లో రాముడు – రావణాసురుడు మధ్య యుద్ధం జరుగుతుంది.. ఆ సమయంలో లక్ష్మణుడు స్పృహ తప్పి కింద పడిపోతాడు.. అప్పుడు ఆంజనేయస్వామి ఎక్కడో హిమాలయా పర్వతాల వద్ద ఉన్న సంజీవని పర్వతం తీసుకొని వచ్చి మరీ లక్ష్మణుడిని మూర్ఛ నుండి తప్పిస్తాడు.. అయితే హనుమంతుడు అలా ఎత్తుకొచ్చిన సంజీవని పర్వతం ఈ ద్రోణగిరి ప్రదేశంలోనే ఉండేదట. తాము ఎంతగానో పూజించే ఆ కొండను ఆంజనేయస్వామి తీసుకెళ్ళేసరికి ఇక్కడున్నవారికి కోపం కట్టలు తెగిందట.
అప్పటి నుంచి ఆంజనేయ స్వామి పూజలు చేయటం మానేశారు ఈ గ్రామ ప్రజలు. ఆ కారణంతో ఇప్పటికి హనుమంతుడి ని ద్వేషిస్తారు ఇక్కడి ప్రజలు..

మనిషి పుట్టుక నుంచీ మరణం వరకూ ధర్మబద్ధంగా ఎలా జీవించాలో నిర్దేశించిందే వేదం. అలాంటి వేదాలను సంరక్షించడానికి విష్ణుమూర్తి ఎత్తిన అవతారమే మత్స్యావతారం. సోమకాసురడనే రాక్షసుడు.. బ్రహ్మ దేవుని వద్ద ఉన్న వేదాలను అపహరించి సముద్రంలో దాచెను. సముద్ర గర్భంలోకి వెళ్లి దాక్కుంటాడు. వేదాలు లేకుండా జీవసృష్టి చేయడం కష్టమని భావించిన బ్రహ్మదేవుడు మిగిలిన దేవతలతో కలిసి వైకుంఠపురం చేరుకుంటాడు. జరిగిన విషయాన్ని విన్నవించి, ఈ విపత్తు నుంచి కాపాడమని వేడుకుంటాడు. అప్పుడు శ్రీమహావిష్ణువు మత్స్యరూపాన్ని దాల్చి సముద్రంలో దాగున్న సోమకాసురుడితో భీకర యుద్ధం చేస్తాడు. కొన్ని సంవత్సరాలు కొనసాగిన ఈ యుద్ధంలో చివరికి సోమకాసురుడిని సంహరించిన విష్ణుమూర్తి వేదాలను బ్రహ్మదేవుడికి తిరిగి అప్పగిస్తాడు.
మరోవైపు… వేదాపహరణ జరిగిన సమయంలో సోమకాసుర సంహారం కోసం సముద్ర గర్భంలోకి వెళ్లిన స్వామి ఎన్ని రోజులకీ ప్రత్యక్షం కాకపోవడంతో అమ్మవారు కూడా భూలోకానికి పయనమవుతుంది. భూమ్మీద విష్ణుమూర్తి శిలారూపధారుడై ఉన్నాడని తెలుసుకుని, అక్కడికి చేరుకుని స్వామివారికి అభిముఖంగా శిలారూపంలో నిలిచిపోయిందని చెబుతారు. ఆనాటి సంఘటనకు సాక్ష్యంగా నేటికీ ఆలయంలో స్వామివారు పడమరకు అభిముఖంగా దర్శనమిస్తే, వేదవల్లి అమ్మవారు తూర్పునకు అభిముఖంగా దర్శనమిస్తుంది. నారాయణుడు వేదాలను తిరిగి ఇచ్చిన స్థలం కావడంతో ఈ ప్రాంతం వేదపురి, వేదారణ్యక్షేత్రం, హరికంఠాపురంగా ప్రసిద్ధి చెందింది. శ్రీకృష్ణదేవరాయలు కాలంలో ఈ గ్రామానికి తన తల్లి నాగమాంబ పేరిట నాగమాంబాపురంగా నామకరణం చేశాడు. కాలక్రమంలో ఇది నాగలాపురం అయ్యింది. ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రం చిత్తూరు జిల్లాలోని ప్రముఖ ఆలయాల్లో ఈ వేదనారాయణ స్వామి ఆలయం ఒకటి. ఆలయ ద్వారంలో ఉన్న వినాయకుడి విగ్రహం ఇక్కడ ప్రత్యేక ఆకర్షణ.
శ్రీ మహావిష్ణువు మత్స్యావతార రూపంలో సముద్రంలో సంవత్సరాల తరబడి యుద్ధం చేసి వచ్చినందున స్వామి దివ్య శరీరానికి వెచ్చదనం కలిగించేందుకు సూర్య భగవానుడు తన కిరణాలను స్వామివారి మీద ప్రసరింపచేయడమే సూర్యపూజోత్సవం. ఉత్సవంలో ప్రధాన రాజగోపురం నుంచి 630 అడుగుల దూరంలో ఉన్న మూలవిరాట్పై సూర్యకిరణాలు నేరుగా ప్రసరిస్తాయి. మొదటి రోజు స్వామివారి పాదాలపై, రెండో రోజు నాభిపై, మూడో రోజు స్వామి శిరస్సుపై సూర్యకిరణాలు ప్రసరించి స్వామి దివ్యరూపాన్ని మరింత తేజోవంతం చేస్తాయి.
ప్రతి సంవత్సరం మార్చి నెలలో 23, 24, 25 తేదీలలో లేదా 26,27,28 తేదీలలో మూడు రోజులు స్వామివారికి సూర్య పూజోత్సవాలు జరుపుతుండటం విశేషం..
శూర్పణఖ అసలు పేరు మీనాక్షి.. కేకసి, విశ్రావసుల కుమార్తె. రావణ, కుంభకర్ణ, విభీషణ, ఖర దూషణలకు సోదరి. మారీచ, సుబాహులకు మేనకోడలు. అంటే తాటకి ఈమెకు అమ్మమ్మ. విద్యజ్జిహ్యుడనే రాక్షసుడు ఈమెను వివాహం చేసుకున్నాడు. వీడు కాలకేయ వంశానికి చెందినవాడు. రావణాసురుడు లోకాలన్నిటినీ జయించే ఉత్సాహంలో ఒకసారి కాలకేయులతో పోరాడుతూ పొరబాటున విద్యుజ్జిహ్వుడినీ వధించాడు. అప్పటికి శూర్పణఖ గర్భవతి. భర్త మరణంతో దు:ఖితమదియైన శూర్పణఖను రావణుడు ‘తెలియక తప్పు జరిగిపోయిందని’ ఓదార్చాడు. మనసు కుదుటపడటానికి ఖరుడు, దూషణుడు, త్రిశరుడు అనేవాళ్ళను తోడిచ్చి దండకారణ్యంలో విహరించమని పంపేశాడు. అప్పటి నుంచి ఒంటరైన ఆమె లంకకు, దండకారణ్యానికి మధ్య తిరుగుతూ కాలం వెల్లదీస్తుంది.
రావణ సంహారమే రామాయణమైతే, శ్రీరాముడు రఘవీరుడైంది రాక్షస సంహారంతోనే ఇదంతా శూర్పణఖ వల్లే జరిగింది. ఒక్క తాటికి, సుబాహు తప్ప మిగతా వారి మరణానికి కారణమైంది. అంతేకాదు వారికి అభివృద్ధి కూడా తోడ్పడింది ఆమే. ఎలా అంటే విభీషణస్తు ధర్మాత్మా అంటూ మొట్టమొదటి సారిగా రాముడి వద్ద విభీషణుడి పేరును ప్రస్తావించి, ఆయనపై శ్రీరామునికి సదాభిప్రాయం కలిగించింది కూడా ఈ మీనాక్షే.దండకారణ్యంలో నరవాసన తగలి పరుగెత్తుకొచ్చిన ఈమె, రాముడి దర్శనంతో ఆకలిని సైతం మరిచిపోయి, కామ వికారిగా మారి సాక్షాత్తు శ్రీమన్నారాయణుని చేయిందుకోవాలని ఆశించింది. అందుకు సీతను చంపడానికి కూడా సిద్ధపడింది. శూర్పణఖను రాక్షస స్త్రీగా వాల్మీకి వర్ణించినా, కంబ రామాయణంలో మాత్రం ఆమెను అందగత్తెగా చిత్రీకరించారు. సీతను చంపడానికి ఉద్యుక్తురాలవుతోన్న శూర్పణఖను తన అన్న శ్రీరాముడి ఆఙ్ఞతో లక్ష్మణుడు ముక్కు, చెవులు కోసి వదిలిపెట్టాడు. అయితే ఈ శూర్పణఖ పూర్వ జన్మలో ఓ గంధర్వ కన్య.
వైకుంఠంలో శేషతల్పంపై పవళించిన శ్రీహరిని చూడటానికి ఓ రోజు ఈమె ప్రయత్నించింది. ఈ సమయంలో ఆదిశేషుడు తన పడగలతో మహావిష్ణువును కనిపించకుండా మూసేశాడు. దీనికి ఆగ్రహించిన ఆ గంధర్వ కాంత శేషుడి చెవులు, ముక్కుమీద పొడించింది.
ఆమె చేసిన పనికి లక్ష్మీదేవి ఆగ్రహం వ్యక్తం చేయగా, లక్ష్మీతో ఆమె వాగ్వాదానికి దిగింది. ఇంతలో శ్రీహరి వచ్చి భార్యను కసురుకుని భూలోకంలో రాక్షసిగా జన్మించమని శపించాడు. దీంతో ఆగ్రహించిన ఆమె లక్ష్మీదేవిని కూడా శపించింది. కాలాంతరమున నా కారణంగా నీకు భర్తతో వియోగం సంభవిస్తుందని శాపం ఇచ్చింది. ఆ గంధర్వాంగనే శూర్పణఖ.. ఆదిశేషుడే లక్ష్మణుడు. అలాగే తన భర్తను రావణుడు సంహరించాడనే కోపంతోనే రాక్షసనాశనం గావించింది శూర్పణఖ. చిన్న పాత్రే అయినా రామయణం మొత్తానికి ప్రధానమైనదిగ నిలిచింది.

సూక్ష్మబుద్ధి కలిగిన వినాయకుడు ఇందులోని అంతరాన్ని గురించి ఆలోచిస్తాడు. అటు పై పార్వతి పరమేశ్వరులకు పాదపూజ చేసి వారి చుట్టూ మూడు సార్లు ప్రదక్షిణ చేసి అక్కడే కుర్చొండిపోతాడు. ఇక కుమారస్వామి ఎక్కడకు వెళ్లినా ఆయన అక్కడకు చేరుకోవడానికి ముందే వినాయకుడు ఆ ప్రాంతంలో ఉన్నట్లు కనిపిస్తాడు. దీంతో చివరికి చేసేది ఏమీలేక పరీక్ష మొదలైన చోటకి కుమారస్వామి అత్యంత ఆశ్చర్యంతో చేరుకుంటారు. కుమారస్వామి రావడానికి ముందే వినాయకుడికి పార్వతీ, పరమేశ్వరులు అందరి దేవతల సమక్షంలో పెళ్లి చేస్తారు. ఇక కుమారస్వామి ఈ విషయం తెలుసుకుని తీవ్రంగా ఆగ్రహం వ్యక్తం చేస్తారు. అంతేకాకుండా మిక్కిలి బాధపడి తన కంటే అన్నింటిలో వినాయకుడికి ఎక్కువ ప్రాధాన్యత ఇస్తున్నారని చెబుతూ దేవతల పై ఆగ్రహం వ్యక్తం చేస్తారు. తాను ఇక పై పెళ్లి చేసుకోనని ప్రకటిస్తారు. దీంతో అటు పార్వతి పరమేశ్వరులతో పాటు దేవతలు మిక్కిలి ఆశ్చర్యపోతారు.
కుమారస్వామి విచక్షణను కోల్పోయి ఎందుకు ఇలా ప్రవర్తించడని పార్వతి దేవి యోగమాయతో చూస్తుంది. కుమారస్వామి నిలబడిన స్థల ప్రభావం వల్ల ఈ విధంగా జరిగిందని తెలుసుకుంటుంది. దీంతో పార్వతి దేవి తన కుమారుడికే విచక్షణను కోల్పోయేలా చేసిన ఈ ప్రాంతాన్ని సాధారణ మానవులు ముఖ్యంగా దంపతులు చేరుకుంటే వారి జీవనంలో జరగ కూడని ఎన్నో సంఘటనలు జరిగి అశాంతికి కారణమవుతుందని కూడా ఆ మహామాత కు అవగతమవుతుంది. దీంతో సదరు ప్రాంతంలో తాను శ్రాయ్ కోట మాతగా వెలుస్తానని దంపతులు ఎట్టి పరిస్థితుల్లోనూ జంటగా ఇక్కడకు రాకూడదని చెబుతుంది. ఇందుకు విరుద్ధంగా జరిగితే ఆ దంపతుల మధ్య కలహాలు చెలరేగి వెంటనే వారు విడిపోతారని శాపం పెడుతుందని ఇక్కడి పూజరులు చెబుతారు. అందువల్లే ఇక్కడకు వచ్చే దంపతుల్లో మొదట ఒకరు అటు పై మరొకరు ఈ దేవతను దర్శించుకుంటారు కాని ఎట్టి పరిస్థితుల్లోనూ జంటగా మాత్రం దేవతను పూజించరు.
